New Nine Inch Nails coming

Why would his father need a coat hanger? you’d think that would be a woman’s tool in this particular situation. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely agree with your assessment of Atom, as do most people here, (he was a nuisance at Piss Army too from what several PMs that have come to me have said) but if your gonna call him out at least be somewhat productive about it. instead of just sputtering out nonsense.

This has been a tip from your local grmpysmrf.

Hmmm, how about the usage of a broomstick or long flight of stairs instead? Or a nice long squirt of Liquid Plumber up the snatch?

I’m liking it a lot.

Has anyone listened to the “Audiophile Mastered” version? There’s a bit more depth to it and the dynamics are much more apparent.

[reply][reply]Haha! What the fuck? Total failure and overkill on the pseudo-Bill Hicks anger rant there, buddy. Abort this mission while you’re ahead, jackass.

Mission aborted, sire. Oh, and fuck the sperm and the ovum that came together to grace us with your “holier than thou” douchefuck presence. We need to send one of those Terminators that you were babbling on about on my other post back in time to introduce your father to a rubber (or a coathanger).

No. Everybody here loves me.

I honestly don’t care about some little knitting-circle where you and the gals gossip about me and days passed on a long dead message board. I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone who has an issue with me that they’d be upfront about it on here - you know, like how numerous people have been regarding you and what a ridiculously moronic toolbag you can be.

Basically, fuck your “People PMed me that they don’t like atom because he’s a big meanie” bullshit. And both of you two blubbering idiots need to start fucking or take your faggotry to PMs the way the rest of my fan club discusses me.

Gave it a good listen today. It’s probably more close to With Teeth. A sprinkle of Fragile. I keep hearing “Deep” in some of these tunes. It’s growing on me.

Listening to the vinyl right now. Yes, there are more dynamics to the vinyl pressing compared to the digital release. I had to turn the volume up at the beginning, which was a change. Most of the time I put in a CD that’s been produced within the last 15 years, I have to turn the volume down, except for the Pink Floyd/King Crimson remasters.

Don’t give a fuck what you think, just stating the facts, fuckstick.

Yes, you do, fuckstick. Now get the fuck out of this thread before I “bully” you into not posting and/or avoiding me for a week for the third or fourth time since I’ve joined.

Save your hard-on for me for your Anonymous Battered Users Club full of losers who’ve been “victimized” or “bullied” by my online “persona” from various forums.

Meh, WT was way more “minimal” and more of a “rock record”. This is far too electronic. It’s a blend of TF and YZ with some TDS thrown in. It’s something different yet still has some similarities to previous albums… basically. Haha. I don’t know.

I spent all of 15 seconds finding this for you. just so you don’t feel alone here:

No need to thank me 'cause I did it out of pity, since I feel so sorry for you because this is obviously the only interaction that you get with people.

So, please, watch it multiple times and feel comforted that your behavior is not all that uncommon for a certain demographic.

So yeah, I like the vinyl version better. The CD mix has too much high end.

thing is… apparently, vinyl version has more dynamics than even the ‘audiophile’ high-res version.

how is that possible

What qualifiers are they using to determine those sounds? I gotta wonder…Trent’s a fucking nerd, why would he be putting out a sub-par AUDIOPHILE version if it sucked? That’s like asking for trouble.

Oh yeah…

And the new Nine Inch Nails album…isn’t bad! Color me surprised.

I wouldn’t go off of that. And either way, now days even before songs are sent out to mastering they’re often pushed close to peaking already and as loud as can be. With mastering (and I’ve had to master a shit-ton of music before) you have to sacrifice certain frequencies (mainly lo end and sometimes mid-hi’s) to boost the db and get that “loud” fucking album everyone wants. There is a way to get an album to be reasonably “loud” AND still keep the majority of the dynamics while not sounding brickwalled to fuck or clipping anytime the kick is hit.

Someone had posted a picture of the dynamic differences between “Satellite” on the regular verson and “Audiophile” version on ETS and there is an obvious visual difference. It basically looks like the way wave look before being mastered. Hell, I can HEAR the difference between the two versions of the album. “Find My Way” sounds much more spacious and that fluttering roll and sub is more prominent. Not that the regular master is bad by any means. I was impressed by it’s production to begin with.

Also, considering how into vinyl TR seems to still be, he’s most definitely one of those artists/bands that masters albums differently for the vinyl version rather than lazily putting the CD master to wax all half assed.

True…just the vibe I was referring too.

I can see that definitely actually. It’s more personal (again) whereas the last two were highly “political” or at least used “politics” and the apocalypse, war, greed, etc. as metaphors for personal issues.

The outro to “Various Methods of Escape” is straight outta something from WT though.

I can’t seem to take a few tunes for both NIN & Ministry new releases. But as a whole, I like both of them. It’s about time I’m hearing some cool music from my old industrial buddies.

I’ll admit that “Hail to His Majesty” is the only “Ministry” song I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since… I don’t even remember.

So, it is indeed very cool that they’re both releasing better material at least (I consider HM miles better than The Slip and Beers to Eternity is already better than Relapse because I actually enjoy a song and a half on it). But I unfortunately am not able to share the same feeling of joy you are… at least to the same extent.

Meh, finally got around to listening to this album in its entirety. I was really hyped up for this shit too, seeing as I really dug Came Back Haunted and Copy of A… and ladies n gents, those happen to be the only good tracks on the ENTIRE ALBUM. LOOOL!!! imo anyway.

I dont know man, just a really weak album. Way too much of a commercial poppy sound, and what’s with the funky white boy takes “All Time Low” and “Everything” really threw me off. I’ll stick to Came Back Haunted and Copy of A, two really good tracks, everything else is forgettable.
