New Nine Inch Nails coming

It’s disgusting, it’s such a weird phenomenon, tickets are expensive enough, why would you a) buy one for a band you don’t care about enough to actually watch, or b) watch a band you supposedly care about through a tiny screen, when they’re there, large as life, in front of you. Sad, sad bastards. Neil Young got annoyed at some middle-aged woman in the crowd who was texting or filming with her phone, i think he might have asked her to stop, she ignored him (possibly didn’t notice him talking to her because she was so self-absorbed) and he ended up throwing a drink at her from onstage. She was ejected from the show. Good man Neil.

EXCELLENT!

And for the goons that complained that you were in the way of their film operation . . . if that ever happens to me I think I’ll say, “Oh, I didn’t realize you were with the media. I thought you were just some other fans who were here to enjoy the show. Look, just go over to the side of the stage there and show security your press pass and they’ll let you up front with the other photographers.”

Haha, yeah! My friend said “Well, it’s a big fucking place” and just turned his back on the guy, who didn’t even have the balls to challenge him any further. I genuinely couldn’t believe the guy had just said that to him. The nerve of the guy!

This happens allot in festivals. I was seeing The Cure and there was this group of Spaniards in a circle talking to each other and ignoring completely the concert. What the hell were they doing there? There are better places to talk and less expensive. It just seems so dumb and rude.

Sometimes I think I’m just getting old but then I see thins like this http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3kUKQL7dZdc/TlUKvxEUcFI/AAAAAAAAStA/Z7Y558h-QS4/s1600/ipad_in_concert.jpg

If i was behind that iPad prick i’d be willing to sacrifice my pint just to see if i could destroy it by launching it at the fucking thing. What an absolute arsehole. The thing is, looking at the stage through a device doesn’t make it look any better, it makes it seem further away, i don’t know what these twats are trying to accomplish.

[reply]I recently went to see The Cult and Astbury went off on some fucking dip shit loser who was filming and texting in the front row the whole time…there is even a recent post on Blabbermouth about it…what a fucking pussy generation of dildo’s who go to a fucking rock and roll show and sit around playing with their stupid ass phones the whole time…embarrassing…

Yep. Totally agreed.

Also, what’s with the people that actually make or take a PHONECALL during a show? I can’t even hear a phonecall if my car window is down or there is a wind blowing outside, but these doofuses like to do it during a rock concert, “NOOO!!! I SAID I’M WATCHING SLAYER!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? WHAT??? I CANT HEAR YOU??? I SAID IM AT THE SLAYER CONCERT!!! HOLD ON I’LL TXT U A PICTURE OF THE STAGE!!! CALL ME BACK IN FIVE MINUTES!!!”[/reply]

Hilarious…and so true…

Sad days,man…sad days…

It also shows a complete ignorance of the ways of rock. I go to a show and smash my way to the front because that is where things are (and damn well should be) crowded, chaotic, and a little violent. I’m gonna rock the heck out and if you got a problem with that you are too close to the front. I don’t bring nice things with me, because they don’t belong and will and should get destroyed. I take my watch off and put it in my pocket, even, because chances are the band will get snapped and it will get pulled off my wrist during the shoving and pit action. If my phone is on my person I turn it off and put it in my vest pocket and I STILL know that there’s a chance it’ll get smashed and I accept that.

This is a rock show, not Comic-Con or a damn fiber-optics convention, so put your faggy ass super-nintendos away and try to act like you knew what you were doing when you dropped $100 for the right to be next to me rocking out with old school’s finest. This is MY domain, Wimp, not yours! Come here with respect and reverence for the fans, the venue, and the hallowed Gods of Rock on stage and I will be your best friend, buy you beers 'til I’m broke, and charge into battle with or for you any day of the week.

But come here like a spoiled primadonna pussyfag and act like you got property rights to treat this holy sanctuary like a damn yuppie retreat or your own personal film studio and I will embarrass you, hurt you, break your toys, and teach you all of your lessons the hard way.

Sounds like a How To Destroy Angels cut with Trent singing instead of his wife.

Probably because he also writes a lot the music in that band. I’m honestly not trying to sound like a prick and I apologize in advance if I do - but there will always be similarities between the two bands since Trent and Atticus are in both of them. It’s only natural. The only way TR could break away and do something 100% completely different is if he went full retard and made a polka album or some insincere pop-folk bullshit.

I actually don’t think it sounds like HTDA at all really. It’s more melodic and melancholy and though it does have a prominent driving beat (like many, many NIN songs have had long before HTDA ever existed) it’s not exactly “dancey” and invokes a little more emotion that’s enhanced by the subtle sounds and slight build up towards the end.
I suppose you could say it’s reminiscent of “A Drowning” off of the first HTDA EP but then again everyone said/complained that that song in particular sounded too much like NIN. Go figure.

Anyway, I’m really loving “Find My Way”. That shit sound fucking niiice. Now if this motherfucker would leak already or we’d get a high quality stream of the full album this painful boner I have would finally subside.

Oh my God, I’ve been trolling the Interwebs for days waiting for the leak. When it finally does emerge from the Internet’s colon, I’ll probably be somewhere I can’t download it, like a plane or the bathroom at McDonald’s.

Better get your ass a laptop so you can download that leak while you’re dropping a deuce in a McDonalds bathroom.

The true pinnacle of technology.

Blah blah blah.
It sounds just like an HTDA outtake.

Uh, I said it has similarities to “A Drowning” which has similarities to NIN. I don’t think it sounds like HTDA anymore than HTDA sounds like NIN at times.

BLAH BLAH BLAH TWO OF THE MAIN FUCKING PEOPLE WHO WRITE THE MUSIC ARE IN BOTH BANDS SO THERE’S A HIGH PROBABILITY THAT THEY WILL HAVE SIMILARITIES BLAH BLAH BLAH COMMON SENSE BLAH BLAH BLAH

Although i thought HDTA was a bit sedate, i did love A Drowning and the video. I think that’s the one that had a video, wasn’t it? Anyway, i liked it but thought the rest was a bit meh. They opened with Copy of A when i saw them the other day. Well, they might have played it 2nd, but they played it.

Pretty sure “The Space in Between” was the one they had the video for. The one where they’re burning in a hotel room. “A Drowning” is definitely one of the better tracks off of their first EP though, I think.

Hoping I get to see them this tour. I’ve seen them enough times now though that I won’t be too bummed if I don’t.

You’re absolutely right. I saw them in 1994, they were amazing, 2005, they were shite, and the other day, amazing again. Trent is officially back in my good books.

Here is what I have seen:

30 April 2005 Club Show, The Joint, Las Vegas, NV with the Dresden Dolls
28 Oct 2008 LitS, UCF Arena, Orlando, FL (best visuals)
9 May 2009 NIN|JA, Ford Amphitheater, Tampa, FL
2 Sept 2009 WG, Palladium, Los Angeles, CA with Gary Numan
6 Sept 2009 WG, Echoplex, Los Angeles, CA with Gary Numan
8 Sept 2009 WG, Fonda/Music Box, Los Angeles, CA
10 Sept 2009 WG, Wiltern, Los Angeles, CA (best show)

31 Oct 2013, Tension, Amway Center, Orlando, FL with Gary Numan
15 Nov 2013, Tension, The Joint, Las Vegas, NV
16 Nov 2013, Tension, The Joint, Las Vegas, NV

This is my least favorite of the new stuff for me, but I still quite like it. I can hear the HTDA comparisons, and I am sure I’m in the minority, but I actually prefer them to NIN right now, as I like having two voices and different ranges and singing styles. Plus HTDA was a little weirder.
