dig some of his work here and there, but this sounds interesting. maybe more atmospheric stuff along the lines of driver down.

maybe along the lines of final too.
speaking of, justin better get his act together with those releases. he’s keeping us waiting but I know it will be worth it
what i’ve heard of this has been pretty good, maybe he did listen when i randomly screamed at him to STFU after Starfuckers live.
So far i’m liking it. The fourth track reminds me of Jesu, but I doubt he even cared to attempt that. Very atmospheric and different. I wanted to pay the 10 and get the download and cds, but the site’s traffic is ridiculous right now. Got it from amazon for the time being. Still yet to hear the entire thing.
The deluxe pack looks nice but RIDICULOUSLY f***ing expensive. I’ll buy the $10 deal and maybe the $39 LP when it’s released. Suppose trents sig would probably go for that much on ebay on a copy of TDS anyway.
the blu-ray version might be nice… if I had a $10K sound system to play it on [:P] If I had that kind of cash to buy a sound system I wouldn’t think twice about buying the $300 deal though lol.
Good effort with no leaks/news etc prior to the date, I had no idea about this until I happened to look at Amazon today and went “Ghosts I-IV, why are amazon stocking bootlegs… oh it’s a new NIN album”
Great stuff! This is exactly what was needed from NIN. This looks like it could be the best NIN material since the ‘Still’ stuff (circa 2002). Cant wait to hear it all. So far tracks 28 & 32 are the best.
yes, alot of this ghosts stuff reminds of still (quiet droning bass and piano).
not my thing actually, i actually liked with teeth and year zero, so i want more of that stuff.
but the booklet has such pretty pictures!!!
I’m excited about this release. I always liked that instrumental soundtrack Trent did for Quake back in 98 and had hoped for more so this sounds promising. Say what you will about the man’s lyrics but he can lay down a very nice drone.
I’m having nothing but fucking trouble actually downloading this thing, and it’s making me wish that technology would go backwards about a decade and I could just buy the goddamn CD.
Havent heard it yet, although I am really looking forward to it. The Quake soundtrack is awesome.
BTW - I bought the 5$ version thru PayPal and apparently Trent’s company is now called The Null Corporation.
Hmm, this is interesting…
Apparently Ghosts is released under this license:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/us/
Does this mean that it is legal to share the version I paid for with other people?
Buying it through the nin site is problematic alright, only U.S. customers can buy it through amazon.
Also, about the artwork accompanying this release; it looks sublime, methinks maybe the recent revival of the American landscape in great films such as ‘Assassination of Jesse James…’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’ has had an influence.

Yes, another evidence that most leakers obviously sit in the big record labels. They seem to have fun ruining the work of artists who feed them.
But wait, the downloaders are the evil ones, aren’t they?
I think even with the 5$ version Trent and his fellows will get more money than with a label between them and the fans.
I’m listening to the free 1st part right now. It’s not the album of the year, but it’s quite nice to listen to. Connects directly to Year Zero.
I guess I’ll give it a try when available in europe. Thanks to the weak $ it will be 36 tracks for about 3,50 EUR only, hopefully. [:)]
i was still unable to actually download it, the nin website seems to be having serious traffic problems.
considering i already paid for it, I think ill just get the torrent, lol.

Amazon is the way to download. $5 and the pdf is available on the NIN site for free.
To be fair it wouldn’t be out until April or May if it was only coming out on CD.
i bought the 2cd version for $16 with postage and couldn’t download it from his site due to the problems they are having so i just grabbed it off of a torrent site and had it in a couple hours. i haven’t liked his music over the past couple albums (especially the last one) but this sounds like decent background music. nothing amazing but i do like it much more than what he has been up to recently. and i think he got it right with his $5 download and $10 double cd prices. the $300 set is pretty fucking hilarious though… i guess he learned well from coil.

Yes. Now that I have successfully downloaded, I can think about things with a clear head again.

I understand, few things are more frustrating than waiting on a frickin’ download.
Downloading now, I’m all for a different approach, but to just release everything you did in a session? Not everything is probably good enough for us to hear, but I should wait until I listen to it. Maybe every note will change my life.
My taste tends to run towards short releases that I want to hear more than once rather than long releases that are a chore to plow through. In that case this isn’t entirely geared towards me. But there’s still lots of good stuff here and it’ll probably all sound better if broken down into the individual suite sections or pared down to half its length.
