I don’t listen to holy wood very much… i really enjoyed mechanical animals and golden age though… zim zum wrote heaps of mechanical… shame they got rid of him.
A funny story about Holy Wood, I went and saw mm back in 2003, a tattooist friend got backstage (apparantly some of the studios get backstage/free tix to a lot of concerts)… and gave manson an E, and asked what the deal with holy wood being crap was.

Speaking of that show… I recently obtained an audio recording of it, Melbourne Vodaphone Arena 2003, september or october or something… not widely circulated as far as I know, at least the quality I got it in (lossless, no cuts or anything) isnt… I have some other hard to come by stuff… anyone else here have any manson boots/videos (videos esp) they want to trade? let me know.
the album’s leaked now… listening to it now out of curiosity. perhaps i’ll delete it after it ends finally… so boring. he moans all the way through the album like’s he’s in a terrible hangover or absinthe withdrawal. and he dared to say that he “really sings” on this album?
Considering how unimpressed I was with his last one I’m not surprised that EMDM is a snorefest. Dude needs to get Berkowitz back and write some catchy fucked up stuff like PoaAF again.
i think twiggy was VERY important in Manson song writing - in fact if i’m not mistaken he pretty much wrote most of the tunes. i think that mechanical animals is a brilliant record. i wasn’t into the latest stuff - but i’ll check this one out.

Daisy and Gidget wrote most of the real old stuff. The first version of Portrait recorded with the Swans producer was before twiggy was even in the band. But after that album twiggy had a big role in the writing.
I love Portrait, but really didn’t like anything after antichrist so yeah Daisy coming back wouldn’t hurt.

oh yes, that version was recently (well, not that recently) recieved by someone from none other than daisy and of course leaked. there are couple of torrents with it out there; it’s nothing special actually, trent’s production version is better. i used to have it in flac but in the end i deleted it.
Yeah, that’s my page although I haven’t updated it in over a year. Daisy sent the pre-Reznor mixes tape to the guy I was working with on the page and we leaked it. If you like Portrait, it’s cool to hear which songs sound almost the same and which ones were reworked. Plus there’s one song (Filth) which didn’t make it to the final album, and Snake Eyes & Sissies was going to be the original first single.
The Ultimate Lossless Spooky Kids Collection torrent (including the pre-Reznor mixes) that I put up on the Pirate Bay almost two years ago is still there, too.

Man I love Mechanical Animals… came out when I was 16 and just got into manson… wasnt huge on it at first, cuz I’d just heard POAAF and Antichrist, but after a few listens… well I listen to it more than either of those two now.
Picked it up on vinyl for a song too when an old record shop I used to frequent shut down. Love the blue/white alpha/omega discs.
