I miss concerts badly…its one of the only things I like to do haha…not to mention I had about 6 lined up before everything went to shit…
Well the upside is at least you don’t have to go in to a mall…

I miss concerts too. I had 12 that got canceled or postponed.
HAHAHA!!! Me too. I really don’t have any other hobbies aside from going to shows and gambling. I got my gambling fix last weekend. I think I also have the benefit of being very easily distracted. I’ve kind of emotionally removed myself from the concert scene for the time being since their lame ass “compromise” shit that pops up all the time is just really cringey to me. Watching a rock show from our cars at a fucking drive-in? Wearing protective gear and spacing ourselves 6’ from each other at a concert? I’m just kind of sitting in the “why bother?” camp for the time being. When we’re finally allowed to do this shit like normal people again, yeah, you know I’ll be on the floor getting radical.
And, yeah, I’m okay with skipping the mall, hahahhaa!!!
I rather like the idea of a drive in concert. Always got a spot to sit. Definitely wouldnt get in the mosh pit
The mosh pit is the only part that appeals to me.
Id be cool to in your car
My Chrysler is probably nearing retirement anyway, and I think it would be a beast in demo derby, hahaha.
Is vegas really limiting people at the table games? do they have plexi glass around the dealers and the table managers (like craps)? Are they really limiting craps to 4 players at a time? basically I’ve heard a bunch of different shit and I wonder how much of it is true… Basically how much different does vegas look now?
I hope that’s a real possibility … I’m kinda worried this is going to be the new normal. like you said, how easily people forget and adjust… I’ve heard no concerts ‘til summer 2021. That’s an eternity in time. will people be interested in concerts then or will we have adjusted and live shows will be phased out cause the interest is gone? I can see it going all virtual concert n’ Shit. buy a “ticket” and you get a speacial youtube link to watch the live show… another link gets you inline at the “merch booth.” I wanna be optimistic about this shit but people have been saying “when things get back to normal for 4 months now.” I’m worried this is normal.
Yeah Man,I have no interest in going to a show where I have to wear a space suit…the drive in thing doesn’t appeal to me either…just have to wait it out…sucks ass…
I think we will get back to it eventually, grmps…but it sure as shit isn’t going to be this year…
I’m gonna ride along with your optimism.
Regarding Vegas:
The reason you get mixed reports is because there is zero consistency. We stayed at Palace Station and they have capitalized on the opportunity to market themselves with the “PLAY IT SAFE” campaign. In addition to all staff wearing masks, they also take everyone’s temperature on entry to the property.
But that was the only place that did so, with respect to places we went (Sahara, Venetian, Palazzo).
The blackjack tables are reduced to 3 players instead of the usual 6, which means you’re about 20" away instead of 6". And I didn’t see any controls at Craps or Roulette. Perhaps there was but I didn’t notice it. I only observed them in passing as I didn’t do any table play on this trip. I saw some pretty tight clusters of players. And the players don’t have to wear masks anywhere.
There was an interesting version of BlackJack, Roulette, and Baccarat where there was a bunch of spaced out machines that actually let you place your bets via touch screen . . . and it also shows the live action of the dealers . . . 1 for each game, who are positioned up at the front of the array. I really liked it.
As for guest self-discipline . . . . there was almost none. My wife and I wore masks when we went where other people were, and no one was giving people shit for it, but if I were to take a guess I’d say the mask-wearers like us represented about 3-5% of the guests at most. We didn’t go Downtown, but heard it was total anarchy down there, haha.
As for the retail shops, few had reopened, but they were requiring masks. I’m not sure if that was by their choice or state/county mandate.
So, yeah . . . . there’s not a whole lot of rhyme or reason to it all.
"Caesars Entertainment Corporation today announced that everyone indoors at its resorts & casinos across the Caesars network will be required to wear masks at all times, except when eating or drinking. The updated mask policy becomes effective on June 24, 2020 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time and applies to all employees, vendors, contractors, guests and passersby in the resorts & casinos. Previously, all employees plus guests at table games were required to wear masks at Caesars resorts & casinos. If you do not have a mask, Caesars will be happy to provide one to you.
“We promised that Caesars would continue to evaluate the latest recommendations, directives and medical science regarding the COVID-19 public health emergency and modify our enhanced health and safety protocols accordingly,” said Tony Rodio, CEO of Caesars Entertainment. “As a result, we are immediately requiring everyone in our properties to wear masks, because the scientific evidence strongly suggests that wearing masks and practicing social distancing may be the most important deterrents to spreading COVID-19 from person to person,” he added.
Caesars will continue to implement all the enhanced health and safety requirements in its revised operating plans. Also, the Company will take steps to ensure that everyone inside its resorts & casinos wears a mask. Anyone who refuses to wear a mask, after being asked, will be directed to leave.
The universal mask requirement will apply to all of Caesars businesses currently open in Louisiana, Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, Nevada, and Indiana, as well as tribal resorts & casinos in Arizona, California and North Carolina. The mask requirement will also apply to additional Caesars resorts & casinos as they reopen in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois and Ontario. Caesars will continue to open resorts & casinos in line with regulatory approvals and customer demand.
Among the enhanced health and safety protocols are more frequent cleaning and sanitization. Caesars has also implemented a health screening program for all employees."
Thanks. Good to know.
I took a free Covid-19 test this morning at one of the local testing events. It was super fast, easy, and painless. So many people were bitching about it that I was really dreading it. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes (got there early for our morning appointment). I guess experiences will vary from location to location, but ours was amazingly efficient and pleasant.
How soon do you get the results? Does it tell you if you already had it? like have antibodies or something?
All good questions, and I should have also given some context first.
One of my wife’s co-workers tested positive on Monday and everyone was sent home until they test negative and can return. She signed me up at the same time, which I thought was redundant, but I was okay with. I didn’t do any recon work of my own.
When we arrived, there were signs that specifically said “No Antibody Tests”, so this is strictly going to tell us whether or not we had Covid-19 as of 10:00am this morning, haha.
Says results in 7-10 days, but I think they’ll come in faster. They post online and you use a sample code (blocked with my finger) to track it.
Pretty cool. We have several testing spots around here but we barely leave the house around others so why bother. rather leave a spot in line for someone else that needs it.
^ Yeah, totally. I wouldn’t have done it on my own, but I’m kind of glad I did, if for no other reason but to be able to share with others and say how easy it was, haha.
Good luck,brother…
