“Patron saint of punk rock”?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA!!!
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Okay, I’m good. No, wait, still laughing . . .

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA!!!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously. Who the heck writes this stuff?

Think it’s probably the first sober interview/appearance he’s made in years. Enough to sound semi-rational anyway. Kind of a shocker.

Saw this already. I was expecting it to be worse. Good to see him actually lucid and articulate. And got some tidbits of new information for once as well. The part about his mom was actually a bit sad…

I think he is slowly getting himself back together, but again I could be totally wrong. Though he is using the stilts again live on this current tour with Alice Cooper, which seems to imply a greater degree of sobriety. Also he seems to have slimmed down considerably. They also get points for adding “Angel With the Scabbed Wings” back onto the setlist for the first time since '97.

Beyond that only time will tell…I’ve said it before (not sure if it was on here though) that I think if anyone could help him at this point it would be Alice, having gone through the depths of alcoholism and come out on top, and also being probably the only person who Manson would take seriously as a mentor, other than David Bowie, who would never be arsed to take on such a task. Alice has been known to reach out to ailing rockstars…

I don’t really care to read the rest of the replies, as I’m sure people will just shit on this regardless (Gunnar, you maybe didn’t imply this, but do you actually think Manson would or has ever called himself “punk rock”?)

Anyway, it is a decent interview and recalls a time when he wasn’t a drunken ass 24/7.

By the same token I wish he’d stop with Columbine shit, though in fairness Larry King brought it up. Honestly it’s beyond a dead horse. Manson and Columbine is like Uncle Al and Bush…

No, I don’t think he would. I was just making fun of the idiotic writings of some clueless jackass. It was probably someone in the King camp that put that stupid tagline there. It just came across as very “love DIY concerts!”

Was nice to see him not spend the entire interview making lame puns and dick jokes. I skipped past all the stupid Columbine talk because I’m fucking tired of hearing about it. Bummer about his mother though.

The part about his mom was actually a bit sad…

What happened to his mom? I can’t be bothered to listen to all of that.

Oh cool just what the board needs:another Marilyn Manson thread…

How many more opportunities does Manson need to prove to everyone that his best work is now years, yeeeeeeeeaaars, in the past and that he will never do anything of importance or quality again? The ultimate career-pissed-against-a-wall, Manson is an absolute fuck-up and even compared to someone like Al, who has his fair share of problems and shitty releases, Manson is coasting by on past glories with nothing relevant whatsoever to say. The last decent release was Golden Age of the Grotesque, a decade ago, believe it or not, and compared to Antichrist Superstar it wasn’t even that great. He’s a laughing stock, which is where he deserves to be.

It’s always amusing to see a very old person interview someone that they have a total generational disconnect from.

“So, tell me about this schtick!”

Yeah,Manson is very old isn’t he?[cool]

Well, he’s older than me.
But I do think the most entertaining part of the interview is how clueless Larry King is.

“Are you a heterosexual?”
“I’m very heterosexual. What kind of question is that?”

Larry has a long history of being clueless and out of touch…I’m guessing his 9 ex-wives might agree…

Speaking of old and out of touch . . . anyone remember when GWAR came on the Joan Rivers show? I love how she expresses concern that children might go to GWAR shows and want to copy what they see on stage.

GWAR stays in character the entire time. It’s hilarious.

great piece of video…it’s hilarious seeing them walk out while that hokey daytime talk show music plays in the background…favorite line:“stretch their gizzards across the Grand Canyon”…

I love the 2nd comment in the comments section by jwatson626…

I fucking love DIY concerts!

I love when she asks them to verify that it’s not real blood and they just keep with it. Of course it’s real blood! Everything is real. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The innuendo comment is amazing too.

Yeah,I laughed at both jokes…even loved the cheap Cleveland joke…you could tell Joan thought they were funny but she still had to play up to the whole PMRC craze of the times with some of her questions…

Yeah, totally. They probably gave her a quick briefing about this “totally outrageous shock rock band that assaults their audience with Satanic imagery and is telling children it is okay to commit murder” and provided her with the standard boiler plate questions. Right quickly you could tell she knew how ridiculous it all was and that she just wanted to snort some coke with Oderus.

She has dementia or something and doesn’t know who he is anymore.
