Minneapolis '83 Video at Dimeadozen.org

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=81037

I saw someone asking about this in another thread recently, so I thought I’d post it. I downloaded it from someone else off of Soulseek a while ago, but I don’t remember who. The quality is watchable at best, but it’s still cool to see a show from so long ago.

Now, does anyone have the Same Old Madness video that they could post? Or You Goddamn Son Of A Bitch? I’ve been looking for those for years!

Downloading now. Gracias!

Yeah, that was probably me, I’ve been loooking for this one for ages. Thanks for the heads up!

uh, that vid is HOT!

fukin funny with al doing all these dances and stuff. they even have female chick on backing vox there…

i truly wish we could have a good quality digital copy of that perfomance. it floors trent’s option 30 videos.

Funny how things make the rounds. That’s the mpeg version of one of my VHS copies of that show. I had it ripped years ago and put it up on the ftp someone had running back then. Must’ve been 3-4 years ago. I do have a slightly better copy somewhere that I’ll get around to ripping eventually.

What happened to that FTP? It was great. Haven’t quite figured out the tirrent thing yet.

Bisquit;
Is that the copy I ripped for you like 3-4 years ago and send to you on CD-R? Glad to see it still making the rounds. I unfortunately couldn’t register/download that torrent from dimeadozen (max. # of user accounts) to verify it .

I remember that VHS tape you sent must have partially metled or somehow gotten kinda flaky in transit. It had all kinds of glitches in it. The audio was actually quite good and cleaned up pretty well. I was just disappointed by the video gremlins.

If anyone has a better quality version of that '83 show I’d love to see it. Ditty for the SOM video. Are there any videos in existence of any other '81-'84 era shows?

That’s the one. Thanks again for that. And yeah, I’ll eventually get around to ripping my slightly better copy.

No prob. Just LMK if you want me to take a crack at ripping it if you are too swamped to do it yourself.

Any chance of Afra or anyone else summoning up the bandwidth to host the Same Old Madness video–even if just for a few days?

Just enough time to let us diehards download it and then eventually get it onto Soulseek or a private FTP site and/or get some torrents up?

Oh, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease?

Amen! SOM and Revenge need another go-around. Never seen either video.

yes yes. someone please release same old madness and minneapolis vid!!

Minneapolis vid is up at Dime; it’s poor visual quality, but the audio is great. I believe the link is at the top o’ the thread…

yea is that a two-part mpeg? cause i have it. i meant to put it up in higher quality (if someone will re-rip it).

then again i don’t have account on dime… :frowning:

yeah, it’s the 2-part mpeg. like i said, not the best, but it was truly a joy to see. actually, i’m pretty impressed, as that was most likely a multi-gen VHS copy. there are a few lags towards the end of part 1, where the video and audio go out of sync, but it quickly corrects itself. pretty entertaining, over-all.

Amen! SOM and Revenge need another go-around. Never seen either video.

That “Revenge” video is one funny as fuck piece of work. Most of the camera work is on Al’s face close-up and he got on eyeliner and is wearing a cross in his left earlobe… so good.

I’ve got a decent quality MPEG of Revenge from a while back as well as a good quality VHS sourced DVD burn of it (I managed to snag about 4/5 of the complete video) from VH1 Classic a few years back if that’d help anyone.

I’d personally never seen Same Old Madness but according to Bisquit, it has Al & co. dressed up and clowning around at a County Fair or something really cheese like that.

I recall hearing years ago that there were plans for a video for one of the Wax Trax or Twitch-era songs that never got off the ground. It was supposedly going to be pretty grim & dark–even more so than the Over the Shoulder video. I think it was going to have Al either dressed in a cloak or guys resembling cloaked gothy druids/monks/priests standing around Al. Anyone know anything more about that? What song from that era would fit with such a video? Maybe Halloween or All Day?

i saw the revenge video on VH1 Classic’s “Alternative” this past Sunday towards the beginning of the show. So they still play it. It’s a pretty good show for those that haven’t seen it and appreciate old obscure 80’s vids. besides the typical joy division, new order, sisters of mercy vids i’ve seen old FLA, nitzer ebb, meat beat vids as well.

would have been awesome if there was a Nature of Love video!

Hey, I just torrented the Revenge video at demonoid.com

http://www.demonoid.com/torrents/details/275211/

And I threw in a good quality copy of the No W video in there as well. I think the Revenge video should be a big surprise for the headbanger’s ball-type fans who download it!

And if you only need the Revenge video, check your torrent client’s settings because it should give you an option somewhere to choose which files to download, so you can skip the No W.

I should also mention that Revenge is the mpeg version that was available here at prongs to download a few years back. The quality is excellent.
