Ministry Tour rescheduled again...no KMDFM

They have way more monthly Spotify listeners (250,441) than FLA (66,666), but still fewer than KMFDM (300,960). Number of Facebook followers gives the same ranking. Many “big” industrial bands are still under 100k (eg. Skinny Puppy, Godflesh).

Spotify stats get weird, though. According to Spotify, Dope (1,728,480) is more popular than Static-X (1,553,345) or Fear Factory (828,144), but they sure aren’t headlining on that tour. And all are more popular than Ministry (635,161), but I guess I believe that.

Is it even easy to get Skinny Puppy to share a stage with each other at this point?

That’s a fair point about Puppy. Pretty sure they’ll never be good friends again.

3teeth is very hit or miss. After following their career path they have gotten progressively lamer and lamer while gaining popularity which is fucking hilarious to me lol. Most of their recent stuff sounds like silly cyber goober nonsense.

Man, the industrial grittiness and DIY attitude that initially hooked me to the genre is all but disappeared. It’s very much just about looking cool and having the most generic production these days.
I guess that’s what happens when you’re part of the superficial instagram, tik tok generation.

HUH!? I thought jourgensen and ogre were the bestest of friends? Unless youre referring to the other guys? I think i saw kevin cey post a picture of rabies on one of his social media accounts about a year ago or so and spoke highly of it which came outta left field considering it’s well known that they hated that album

The first 3Teeth album I liked a lot; sure it was a fair bit of skinny puppy, laibach and stuff like that, but also a sense of identity. Cue album number 2, Shutdown.exe - fresh off a tour supporting rock bands, they find out they need more rock in their sound, possibly to look/sound more like an actual band in a live setting. Ingredients? THE lamest, down-tuned guitar riffs that make Fear Factory or Rammstein sound like prog rock, vocal lines and delivery switched from gritty industrial to lame wank a la an angsty Marilyn Manson. I listened once, puked, and put the album in the drawer of embarrasing purchases.

I’m curious what other albums are in your embarrassing purchase drawer…we all have one with at least a few in there haha…

Mostly boring mainstream stuff that I’ve felt the need to buy and check out like Slipknot, some not-so-great albums by acts like Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age, Incubus… stuff I bought when was younger and more clueless. At the same time I (almost) unironically dig stuff like MC hammer, De La Soul, Spunk-A-Delic, Rick Astley and a bunch of that 90s crap… those albums are placed on the shelf of glory and epicness. So sometimes I’m not sure what to answer to questions like “what’s the most embarrasing record/biggest gulty pleasure in your collection”

Ha yeah I hear ya…shit I thought I knew it all but I’ve never heard of Spunk-a-,delic…wtf

:runs to Internet:

“Canadian hip hop/R&B group”…

Yep that check outs…

Canadian duo, a bona fide one-hit wonder whose claim to fame was their one hit featured on the soundtrack to the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, the one from 1990. They released some 7-inches, one album, and were never heard from again. Cheesy and reeeal 90’s sounding, but I love it.

Hey man,we love what we love, right?..
I still unashamedly listen to Das EFX…

De La Soul is AWESOME. Their first album is fantastic, “Potholes In My Lawn,” “Say No Go” Those are all classic and completely capture the 90s sound. Arrested Development totally ripped off their sound completely and yet is still pretty good.

YEAH! Their second album, De La Soul Is Dead is the winner for me as it holds one of my most favourite feel-good songs ever in "A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays ". I’ll check out Arrested Development at an appropriate time then; never heard of them, only seen the TV show of the same name.

How funny de la soul is dead has the pinnacle feel good song for you while it has one of the best sarcastic tracks ever for me “who do u worship?” Man, ive loved that track since the first time ive heard it. De La Soul are just great.

Revco - Got Cock?
Ministry - Relapse

They just added 13 dates to the tour. Now I have to decide whether I want to go to the Chicago date I’ve had tickets to for two years or I try for Milwaukee…

Now it looks like the Melvins are out?

Ministry posted a pic of the flyer for tonight’s show in New Orleans and the Melvins are scratched out. Yeesh.

Melvins are only out for one show from what I’ve gathered…they kicked ass last night
