the fact that “Mind” has Chris vox on 3 songs and that Wizard guy on “Test”, only adds variety, and (to me) is one of the positive things about the album. afterwards, it was all Al + one song vox by Paul (or Gibby in case of “Hotrod”)
i just recently listened to “Sphinctour” - and “So What” while was good, just doesnt sound exaaaactly right without Chris.
btw live in 92 tours Chris was doing vox on “TV Song” and he is actually credited as writer… why on the album version (AND on the single version) it’s Al’s doing the vocals?

so thats not the weak point of “test”. i dont mind the vox in it or lyrics, the instrumentation is badass i must say. and it works as a track in the album, so why the fuck not.

actually there are two songs with paul singing! useless and vex & siolence. both awesome tracks.
And Stolen. Barker got one song per album. And probably wrote the lyrics to Scarecrow. I’d be surprised if that wasn’t him.

More an any other album, it sounds like two guys that dont get on very well trying to put out an album because it’s their job. I’m much more likely to put on Mole or Rio Grande (I haven’t heard anything later than those two albums). The Magazine cover is pretty good, but I might as well just listen to Magazine.

Yeah, I agree completely on animositoastedsamosa. I haven’t heard relapse so maybe it’s better than that, but I’d take Last Sucker, Rio Grande and definitely Mole (which I think is a great Ministry album) any day of the week.

To be honest, I wasn’t even aware that Paul did any vocals. Also, I was unaware that Connelly did vocals on So What. Cannibal Song and Never Believe are obvious but he must have sung So What in a such Jourgensen-esque style that I couldn’t even tell.

I like Relapse better than Animositisomina and the entire Bush Trilogy. However Relapse doesn’t compare to the 80s/90s stuff. I might like the Bush-era a bit better if it were just one album with the best songs. There is too much filler for me to take at times.

That’s a perfect way of describing Animositisomina. An album that I do like and also consider to be Ministry’s last, but is just lacking and a pain to listen to all the way through. After I listen to the 3-4 songs that I really like off of the album I usually can’t be bothered with the rest. I like it better than anything that came after it though.

it’s not bad on speakers, but have you tried listening to that album on headphones? it’s almost unlistenable. even on speakers, my ears get tired after awhile.
