i’m someone who oversaw the shit floating, for a time. (sorry, i can’t get that genius turd lighting image out of my brain)
the wife points out “If you were to make a mix of Ministry’s best songs for a friend would any post barker ministry be on there?” probably not. END
I would put WORM and SENOR PELIGRO on that mixtape if there was enough room, but that is absolutely it.
Senor Peligro, Let’s Go, and maybe Waiting. Or Warp City.
EDIT: Also maybe Die In A Crash
Nothing at all from Cover Up, though.
Die in a Car Crash is really good, I’d forgotten that one. I’m surprised no one but me has love for WORLD, reminds me of a really good new 1000 Homo DJs cut.
i have a rare genetic disorder which allows me to converse with and honestly criticize a lot of people.
i make no apology for that.maybe that’s why they like me.
look up the history of art criticism and get educated and off your 24/7 i’m into al thing.
find some other outlet for your lack of cultural education/ fixation on one idol.
i have (again) never produced nor mixed ANYTHING.
i’m with the smurf, here.
i have a history at this venue.
if you were that interested in who i was you would have already inquired.
and trent says hello, btw. (as does his whole crew)
I’m going to assume you were replying to my original post in this thread (although you probably don’t even know).

I am not, nor have ever been an Al fanboy. I have repeatedly made my feelings on nu Ministry clear as most here can attest. That said, as a fan of LORAH - Animositisomina era Ministry I still hold him in higher regard than most of his former cronies who come on the internet to bitch and yet have seemingly accomplished very little with their lives post-Ministry.
-
I only care who you are because it would put your idiotic posts into context.
-
Despite your posts, I’m not going to conclude that you are a stupid person because I don’t know you.

Seriously the only song I liked off Rio was Palistina, and that was just for a short while. After a few more listens hated it and deleted it off my ipod. Though the Khyber Pass mix is the only bush ministry song in my ipod.
Some bush songs would make the cut. No W, World, and Worm definitely.
I like “No W”, “World”, “WTV”, “Wrong” and “Worm” from ‘Houses of the Mole’. The rest is mostly shit. “WKYJ” could have been good if not for that buttrock hair metal bridge.
Oh and I thought the hidden track stuff was pretty cool.
So a good half of the cd is solid IMO.
All in all I’d say ‘Houses of the Mole’ is the only decent post-Barker release. But I attribute that to the fact that a few cronies still remained from the late Barker years, most notably Max Brody who is quite talented and who I imagine made Al’s more straight forward song writing a bit experimental.
EDIT: Sure enough just browsed Wikipedia for the credits and it looks like Brody either did programming on or co-wrote and played sax on every song I like from the album.
hey voidhead, chill out.
i will assume that you don’t think i’m idiotic or stupid.
I totally agree voidhead, WKYJ could have been a standout track if not for the noodling solo. Otherwise it sort of sounds like a left over from the Animositisomina sessions imo.
I think time will probably be far kinder to this album than the ones that followed.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. The song is all bizarre and off-kilter. Cool riff in a wierd time signature all ‘Animositisomina’ style, then suddenly it goes hair metal for the bridge with a phoned in solo. WTF?!?
I’m guessing the song was a holdover from the ‘Animositisomina’ sessions. Brody said that he and Barker came up with many song ideas for that album and Al yay or nay’d them. Some of them became Pink Anvil songs and, even later, Flowering Blight songs. This one I’m guessing was written by Brody and was too “metal” for Pink Anvil. Or perhaps was written by Brody after Pink Anvil during the sessions for ‘Houses of the Mole’.
He probably only had that main riff, so Jourgensen and his new batch of cronies went and came up with a bridge of their, thereby ruining a good idea for a song.

I think Ministry lost relevance the moment the “hired bassist” was shown the door. and it only went down hill from there!
YES.
out of the last 3-4 albums maybe a dozen or so songs have staying power! perhaps if Al would’ve taken the best 12 or so songs from those albums and put them on one album I may be inclined to agree with you. as others on the forum have pointed out already, the albums are already obsolete!
DOUBLE YES.
Keep this up Grmpy and we’ll be on the same side.
<shudders>
W’s out of office what relevance do they hold? they are all about one guy! they have no staying power(although I despise W so at the time they were ok to listen to, but who wants to go back and revisit that time period?), unlike the dead kennedys. kennedys stuff is 30 years old and still just as relevent today, if not more so, as they were in 1980!
Yes because The Dead Kennedy’s took aim at corruption/greed/intolerance/indifference in general - it was not specificly aimed at one individual. AND they did so VERY well. Where Ministry fell down with the Bush Trilogy (aprt from from the obvious flaw that it was a ‘Bush’ Trilogy and doomed to irrelevance the minute he stepped out of office) is that Al does not have the wit nor the clever turn of phrase nor the intellectual clout that Biafra can wield when making politcal/social sideswipes and his attempts just end up sounding juvenile and tacky. Just compare California Uber Alles with, say, No W or The Dick Song!!! It’s like comparing Killing Joke with Green Day because… well, they’re both ‘political punk’. Perhaps, as has already been stated 3.5 million times on this forum, he could have whittled his aggression down to two or three REALLY good songs aimed at Bush and let it be. Aren’t you more likely to remember one really good track as opposed to a dozen mediocre ones? In the end he was just pilfering his back catalogue.
YES.
DOUBLE YES.

king smurf. i can smell your hair burning from all the way over here.
well that’s why some rap works still years after it’s been put out and some doesn’t. people can date thier music with topic shit. like rapping about a ps1 or a supernintendo and a 95 escalade or some shit. you know. i mean in this case it’s just talking about material junk which in itself is not really music worthy, but in hip hop it can work to a degree, but you get people like mos def, outkast, and the first nas cd or whomever on one hand and then like, cash money people on the other hand who date themselves with their “whips” and whatnot.
you are 100% correct. A shirt that says “impeach bush” 5 years ago may have been wearable, but today is more or less pointless. on the other hand something like “9/11 was an inside job” would speak to a different level

Awesome! How’s it taste? [:)]

This is why Public Enemy is still in important, I think!(Unless it’s that anthrax song!LOL-not important but still good!)
