Ministry gassed in Toulouse

Apparently some skinhead threw a gas grenade (or something like that) at the band at the show in Toulouse, after about an hour of music. Al and Tommy were blinded and had to be hospitalized. It is not yet clear if this will affect the rest of the European tour.

wow, that sucks.
I mean, I know the fans hated the recent shows, but I guess it’s really come to this?

well, everybody seemed to be loving their show at Hellfest on Saturday (I also saw a LOT of young people with RGB and Last Sucker t-shirts) so I have a feeling that it was just some rabblerousing skinhead or an old fan that really needs to get a life.

Either way, that kind of behavior is totally uncalled for, no matter what you might think of the bands’ show… Dimabag Darrell anyone? If this continues every band will be playing behind a fence or bulletproof glass or something…

that is so 20 years ago

I really hate that shit. There’s never a time or place to lob crap at the stage. I thought some asshole was going to ruin the Bowie/NIN show in '96 when a freaking shoe just missed Bowie on stage. He stopped whatever song they were playing to call out the fan. Dumbest fucking thing someone can do at a concert.

1002

That is pretty lame, I hope Al and Tommy are all right, and no one else got hurt badly. I played a show that was gased about ten years ago so I know how much it sucks. Most of the bands on the bill were of the Oi!/hardcore persuasion so there was a lot of rivalries I guess. Someone just tossed it in through the entrance of the venue, and ran. No one quite knew what was going on until everyone’s eyes started burning, and we were evacuated.

Hmm, that does suck. At least it was something worth leaving the stage for. I remember Manson cutting a show short on the 1999 big day out tour because someone hit him with a shoe or a water bottle or something and he cracked a sad.

The last spooky kids show he broke his damn foot and continued to play… suppose in '99 he’s already got the fanbase/recognition and can afford a hissy fit. Suppose mechanical animals was after his “look at me hurt myself” phase too… but still, eat some concrete and harden up manson of 9 years ago!

fucked up. i’m sorry this happened.

I tried to tell Al to play “Nursing Home” and he didn’t listen??? ROCK’n’ROLL!!!

I hope the skin got hurt badly.
Hope he’s got fewer teeth than he did a couple of days ago anyway.

Someone did the exact same thing at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa during the Filth Pig tour.

“During the performance of “Just 1 Fix”, an audience member (members?) set off a tear-gas grenade, prompting an audience evacuation until it cleared. Drummer Rey Washam went unconscious due to the gas, but came to and continued onward with the show. He was later briefly hospitalized for possible injuries.”

From the prongs website tour info.

Even though all that shit went down it sucks I wasn’t there. I was only 15 and my parents wouldn’t let me go.

where did you read this? would you kindly post a link?

i am the press
one of the journalists from the webzine i work for was at the event and saw it all happen.

btw - i have it on good authority now that the band is fine and the tour will most likely continue.

Even tho I am an asshole I am still a gentleman.

I nominate this for quote of the Board!

yea, when they QOTSA opened for NIN here in atl, he (Josh Homme) went off hard on some guy who was booing them and saying NIN or something. just like he does in that vid.

I think it’s a bit.
He does it at literally every show. So either he’s got a plant in the crowd every time, or he just picks some poor sucker to berate every time.
Either way, it’s part of the act.

Not when I saw them.

When i saw QOTSA, he didn’t blow up at the crowd either, but the venue had been moved (Presidental visit nearby the original venue) and it was hot as fucking hell in the replacement venue.
