Ministry: From Beer To Eternity. New album

basically, all the songs he sings without vocal effects suck and the others are just as bad.

Fixed.

I just listened to it for the second time. It certainly blows the piss out of the boring new NIN album.

parts of Perfect Storm sound very similar to The Dick Song.
I really like the warbles on Hail To His Majesty as well as that “Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllll to his majesty” sample.

Like most everyone else, so far I think this is easily the most creative album out of the last 10 or so years for Al.
I’ve only listened to select tracks but with the exceptions of Permawar I really like it.

Many of the things being said about this album are true (innovation, creativity, lyrical ingenuity etc) however I would point out that the production and the annoying use of that staccato drum machine and vocal stutter thing make it seem like the soundtrack to some “post apocalyptic” video game.

But yes, admittedly it’s a massive improvement on the last two or three abortions.

You’re being too generous. A cheesy soundtrack to some post apocalyptic video game would blow this plastic sounding shit out of the water.

It’s a better brand of dogshit - but dogshit is still dogshit.

…lyrical ingenuity

I can’t imagine anyone has claimed this has lyrical ingenuity, it makes ICP look intellectual. Truly.

Al is ripping off Sherman Hemsley’s “Kick in the Head.” Sherman’s song is actually better.

The song you are referring to is “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head?”

No one using even their most stretchiest of all imaginations could possibly think that the new Ministry song has anything whatsoever to do with that old song. Like what you like. No one cares. But saying Sherman’s song was ripped off by Al is like telling someone you think Olive Garden’s Clam Linguini is a copy of Denny’s Moons Over My Hammy.

Quit being so irrelevant. You have a raging boner for Al. We understand. That’s fine. But at least try to make an actual point every once in a while.

Ordered the coven boxset…had a gift card.

CD: best buy has an offer:

When you actually try to add that to your cart, it doesn’t work.
I’m getting the impression that the digipack is Europe only. I just ordered the regular version off Amazon in the hopes that some kind soul can hook me up with the remixes.

hail to his majesty and thanx but no thanx only 2 that are worth listening to.

I like it. I’ll be spinning this one a lot.

Hail to his Majesty is humiliating. Sounds like the people in Ministry has gas while sitting in the bathtub underwater making gas bubbles with their ass

So this is the edited version of your post, huh? I shudder to even imagine how awesome it was before you RemiXXXed it a few times.

Great stuff, BigMama. Truly.

The first 4 tracks on the new record are pretty ho hum.

Track 6 is the first ‘instrumental’ it seems in, oh almost ten years.

Listening forward, it seems to pick up steam after TV4. Why the whole record had to be dull in comparison is beyond me.

Best record since Houses Of the Mole, but wtf is that really saying?

Doesn’t mean much these days. I actually like the album. Had it’s terrible lyrics (of course!) and a few stinkers, but it has some of the most worthwhile songs to come out of Ministry in quite awhile.

Kinda funny how this albuk is a bit of a fanfare album but also a “fuck you” to his fans.

You must have missed my post about the songwriting credits. Tracks 1, 2, 4, and 5 are Jourgensen/Quirin compositions, not Jourgensen/Scaccia.

Who is that Aaron Havill?

Aaron Haviil is a technician/engineer dude. He’s also DETHROK.

DETHROK

I just listened to 1 song. Dirty wobstep.

I was in Hollywood for his CD release party at Bar Sinister (a gothy goth industrial club). I watched his set for about 2 minutes than left to get my boogie on downstairs on the dance floor and watch a fat dominatrix whip some skinny ass white boy. I went back and checked again about 15-20 minutes later and what was at the beginning a tight packed crowd was now a scattering of a few people looking anywhere but at the stage.

It really ain’t my thang.
