You obviously don’t own “Relapse”.[/reply]

Are you kidding? I wasn’t even AWARE of this freakin’ Relapse shit until a few weeks ago. And from now on I think it’s best that I erase it from memory. Times like these I wish I had one of them flashy “memory eraser” sticks from the Men In Black films.[/reply]

I have something that will have the same effect as the “flashy memory erase stick” from MIB. It’ll give you a headache tomorrow and might cause you to forget some other things but it still gets the job done.

I’ll bet anything, someone make an offer, that that intro myself, and many others, thought sounded so cool is short as fuck and only leads into some predictable, cliche thrash-metal garbage like 1 minute in.

He he he…!!

That happened to me when the last Soundgarden album came out.

The promo video for the album had some eerie as all fuck, early era Pink Floyd vibe piece of music accompanying it. I thought to myself “Fucking hell, that sounds awesome. Perhaps this new Soundgarden thing isn’t going to suck anywhere near as much as I thought.”

Then when I finally bought the album and found that that little snippet I had heard lasts maybe 40 seconds at most and the rest of the song that it’s attached to is as bland and forgettable as one could possibly imagine.

Although, over time the album has kinda grown on me to some respect.

Well, you guys certainly aren’t giving faith to the faithless regarding this album, are you? I suppose I don’t actually expect anything good out of it (why would I when I’ve hated everything else he’s put out?).

Would just be nice to finally like a new “Ministry” song or two.

Amazon has snippets for all the songs up now. . .

You rapscallion! How can you impugn the transcendent brilliance of “1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8/ 99 percenters/ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8/ 99 percenters/ Hey! Hey! Hey hey hey!”?![/reply]

Rapscallion? Impugn? You’re not fooling anyone:

Yesterday I watched the Fox News Network,
I swear they’re all on crack

Jesus fucking Christ that’s some awesome lyrics there! Al’s really giving it to the man!!!

How can you say that?! :’( I learned the word “rapscallion” from my favorite work of philosophy, [url “http://www.amazon.com/The-Vanishing-Pumpkin-Tony-Johnston/dp/0698114140”]The Vanishing Pumpkin.

I learned how to sex the black women from the Smashing Pumpkins.

Fuck you for trying to promote the album, fanboy.

What? I thought I was doing you a favor? You need something new to bitch about, yes?

Dude, you’re supposed to ignore that guy.

Also, bestbuy.com has the digipack version for $9.99 and Amazon doesn’t have it at all. Seems weird to me…

Say something funny again! Come on! Say something funny, man!

I’ll second that.

Come back, deadguy! I want to hear more about your throbbing hateboner for everyone on this forum, Justin Broadrick, Skinny Puppy, Killing Joke, and the Paul/Chris/Bill chimera!

Samples are interesting. Fairly Unbalanced sounds like it could be a rehash of Freefall. I’m curious though. Not expecting anything mindblowing, but it seems like it could actually be listenable.

Official lyrics: http://www.herfitzpr.com/hpr.com/Ministry_2013_Lyrics.html

You can also see most of the songwriting credits (the two songs without lyrics pages sound like instrumentals/sample collages):

  1. Jourgensen/Quirin
  2. Jourgensen/Quirin
  3. Jourgensen/Scaccia/Quirin
  4. Jourgensen/Quirin
  5. Jourgensen/Quirin
  6. ?
  7. Jourgensen/Scaccia
  8. Jourgensen/Quirin/Scaccia
  9. Jourgensen/Scaccia
  10. Jourgensen/Quirin/Scaccia
  11. ?

Hasn’t Al been saying that the album was basically only being completed as a tribute to Mike Scaccia, and they’d written something like 18 songs at the time of his death? It surprises me that the A side has four Jourgensen/Quirin compositions on it.

And here’s the performance credits:

All songs performed by Ministry®™

Alien Jourgensen: Lyrics & Vox, Lead/Rhythm Guitars, Bass, Keyboards, De-programming, Harmonica

Michael Scaccia: Lead/Rhythm Guitars, Bass

Sin Quirin: Lead/Rhythm Guitars, Bass

Tony Campos: Bass

Sammy D’Ambruoso: Drum/Synth Programming, Remix DJ, B/g Vox

Aaron Havill: Synth Programming, Theremin, Samples, B/g Vox

Sgt. Major: Spoken Word on Thanks But No Thanks & Enjoy The Quiet

Add’l B/g Vox : Patty Fox, Hector Munoz & Matt Bridges

Kinda interesting after the conversation in the other topic about Al contributing nothing instrumentally.

After hearing the samples from Amazon, it sounds like a Sin cd to me.

A few comments:

  1. Really “excited” to see that Sgt Major is back.
  2. For an album that only exists because of Mikey he’s not on a lot of it
  3. Great lyrical content such as:

Just lick my mother fuckin’ balls
Pearl necklaces for everyone
Don’t fucking care at all
‘Cause I’m Al Fuckin’ Jourgensen

I felt a little sad hearing Sgt. Major reading William S. Burroughs.
