[reply][reply][reply][reply]The only good song on RGB is Gangreen.
Please tell me that’s sarcasm. That smells like sarcasm. That was sarcasm right?

No sarcasm at all. You must take the song too serious. It’s meant to be funny.[/reply]
I know it’s meant to be funny. it’s not though!

The drill sargent is hilarious. The opening riff is hella goofy. Should it have been a side project since the topic of side projects got mentioned?[/reply]
Shoulda stayed the mystery song that it is. Hell, I’ll take Linda Summertime over that crap.

I think we would all take Linda Summertime over Gangreen.
Palestina! Best ministry song ever! Now THAT’S sarcasm. Gangreen is alright. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t really like it either. Never got what people see in Senor Peligro. Too me, it’s as cliche metal as it gets. I can say, though, that I do enjoy a good chunk from RGB. But, a lot of it I could easily live without ever hearing again.
And 99’% isn’t that bad, musically. Lyrically, it’s one of the worst. But if you can look past that, it’s actually not all that bad.

why the palestina hate?! that’s a sick track imo. it’s nice to see someone write about such an important issue.
to be honest, i LOVE the lyrics in RGB (for the most part). i’m as left wing as they get, so it hits home. that’s why i like the album. i love the sample arrangements in the title track, i thought that was pretty cool. i also enjoy gangreen. it’s making fun of the marine core, what’s not to like about that?
lyrics mean a lot to me, and when they’re blatantly horrible it completely ruins the song for me. so that means i didn’t even bother listening to relapse :P.
I like pretty much everything by Ministry to be honest. I liked Gangreen after a couple of listens, initially wasn’t keen on it. I liked 99%, it’s something different from the norm, Die In A Crash (which some people seem to hate) is fucking fantastic. That Linda Summertime thing is bollocks and the intro to the Relapse album where Al talks a load of crap about how he’s really hard done by is shite too. I don’t like Abortive, it’s total balls. Some of the covers are shit as well, but in terms of original songs i think they have a great track record.
It seems to me that a lot of people are annoyed with them doing the same old metal thing all the time these days, but when they do something different, like Die in a Crash, they still complain. I’m no Ministry apologist, but it’s much more hit than miss in my opinion.
Oh, and that Gn’R track My World that Gunnar mentioned, that was the only Gn’R track i ever hated, hahaha. Strangely i don’t mind it so much these days.
“Get Up Get Out And Vote” is the worst Ministry song, imo.
I’ve even grown to like that one, but like ALL the songs on RELAPSE, the lyrics are beyond horrible. Also, “Vote” has the most retarded samples of all time too.
Not feeling what I heard in the youtube video. Especially not the reggae/dub shit that a lot of people are, for whatever reason, excited about.
“Relapse” is by far the worst Ministry album he’s shat out and really just a well rounded abortion smothered in dog shit. What a pile of fuck. I have really, really low expectations for anything Al puts out now days.
I’m seriously still shocked you like it, Gunnar. But to each their own.

This link contains an interview with Sin talking about FBTE. He seems pretty stoked about it, the recording process has been done for a while, it’s supposedly not like “the last three records” and goes back to the sound found in Filth Pig and Psalm 69. Comes out in June.

I’m definitely in the minority, but, yeah, I love it. It’s like a party album for me. I kind of celebrate its dumbness. If you try to gather any “meaning” from the album or anything you’ll be dead in the water, but if you ignore the most attrocious lyrics ever and try to accept it just as a good hard rockin’ metal album it’s cool. It’s got some really cool grooves on it and some amazing solos.
But yeah, 1,2,3,4,5 Vote Goat Boat Boogity Boogity is a pretty big impasse that most just can’t get around.

I’m excited to hear some Filth Pig influences. Is it just me or has every record (beginning with Animositisomina) been labelled as Psalm 69 2.0, faster/more intense version of Psalm 69 or going back to Psalm 69? It’s getting old. That isn’t the only record Ministry fans care about. Sure, it went platinum, we get that. I just want something different, but good. Relapse was good, so I have some hopes for this one.
I’ll shave my head and live the rest of my life in seclusion in the mountainous region of Tibet if “Supermanic” doesn’t hit bargain basement bins the day after release.
Assuming it ever does get a widespread release which I’m seriously doubting it will. Most likely it will be a kind of 13th Planet deal: available only from the website, whereby approximately 40-odd people will buy the thing.

Holy crap! Can it be? Someone ELSE besides me actually likes Relapse? I feel like I just saw a Sasquatch or something.[/reply]
I’ll admit I like most the music but the lyrics are bad news…I’m sort of a Ministry homer anyway. I edited out the first minute fifty whatever of the first track because I was sick of skipping that shite every time. That intro is worse than 100 Tests (which isn’t all that bad minus the lyrics) but I think Git Up Get Out 'N Vote has taken the crown as Ministry’s worst track.
