We actually got about 30 seconds of teaser last night as the band broke into “LAVA”. We all started losing our minds. “HOLY SHIT!!! It’s LAVA!!! LAVA!!! LAVA!!!”
But they then segued right into whatever nu-Ministry song was next on the set. Boner kill.
Interesting quote from Al about the fans helping him “put food on the table.” I would think Al could easily increase attendance at the shows by playing a few more classics like “Burning Inside”, “Breathe”, and “We Believe.” Of course, if he pulled out “Everyday is Halloween” (even the more recent version) then it would be the sign of the apocalypse.[/reply]
For all the shit Al talks about the fans, none of it was apparent at the M&G. Was genuinely a sweetheart.

Didn’t Sin do an interview where he mentioned trying to talk Al into playing more older songs but Al just wasn’t having it?

It’s an EternaTour poster and for $10 is pretty legit. Saw Social D recently and their smaller poster was $20. They played Thieves and So What from Mind. Thieves got the biggest reaction of the night, NWO number 2.
In Philly, Al was wasted and kept falling over on stage.
He also forgot what verse he was on in one of the songs and went to consult his lyric book.
Also an odd crowd. (The crowd at Irving Plaza was much better.)
Laibach was good.
very sad indeed.
“I’m so wasted…I don’t even know how I’m standing up here right now” sigh to compare this to the first shows of the tour where he was energized, full of life, and apparently clean…I guess I was rooting hard for him to pull through but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
How many shows are you catching this time around, Mooney? Was Laibach just at the Philly stop or at another too?
Two Ministry gigs. I was in NYC at Irving Plaza (where RevCo and I chatted during the opener), FNM in Boston, and Laibach/Ministry in Philly at Theater of the Living Arts. Laibach is on their own US tour; and somehow, the venue booked both bands on the same night. They both played a headliner long set. Irving Plaza was good. Philly, not so much.
Wonder if our show was his last good one. I thought he looked healthy and coherent. He was chatty with the crowd and energetic.
Yeah, I don’t know. I mean, I knew it was a crapshoot going in . . . even as early as when we first bought tickets. I’m glad we got lucky with a good show in Anaheim. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the tour plays out. I’ll be at the Vegas show next month . . . he’s got almost a month to either get back on track . . . . . or fall completely off the rails.
