Ministry: AmeriKKKant

Have you guys seen the artwork?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
It makes Rantology look like the fucking Sistine Chapel.
Bad.
So fucking bad.

Oh, and as for that “Producer”/ “Director”/ “Onsite Taint Inspector” jibber jabber . . . . FUCK ALL THAT NOISE!!! We know it doesn’t give you shit. Maybe, if you pester them enough, you’ll get to come down and pop in the studio one day and listen to Al tell some stories about how he sucked his own dick on top of Rob Zombie’s Dragula while roadies were fucking ostriches in the backseat . . . but you don’t get to actually participate in the creative process.

And if you DID get actual creative control for your monetary contribution, what does THAT say about Al as an artist? Oh, yeah, here’s my vision and creation . . . . but I’m willing to let ANYONE else do it instead if they give me some cash. FUCK THAT. Have some integrity.

MAKE THE ALBUM.
TRY TO MAKE IT NOT SUCK.
SELL IT.
FUCK YOU.

Nothing. It buys you the ability to see your name in print inside a cd lyric book.

What if your name is Paul Barker, Chris Connelly or Big Gay Al? Would he put you in the credits in that case?

HaHa. If I had the scratch I’d definitely submit my name as Paul Barker.

Link? I looked it but couldn’t find anything

If it’s that demon-against-a-flag thing, I don’t think it’s that bad, though it would be much better without the little Al-and-Trump drawings. Even still, I like it more than the Relapse and From Beer to Eternity covers.

Danzig’s getting heat from the left for supporting Trump’s Muslim band and buying into the debunked idea that Planned Parenthood “sells baby parts”.
It shocks me that anyone is shocked. It’s not like Danzig has ever been any sort of PC liberal whatever.

It’s disappointing but also not surprising. Remember, dude wrote a song called “White Devil Rise” about ‘reverse-racism’ because he was offended not the least bit by Farrakhan’s various ragingly homophobic or misogynistic or antisemitic comments but rather his racial oppression stuff.
Funny how this weird double backlash is working, with liberals renouncing their Danzig fandom and conservatives saying they won’t listen to Ministry anymore. The latter is especially weird though because it’s obviously not like Al writing a song espousing lefty beliefs is unprecedented (or maybe “unpresidented”)

The Danzig backlash thing is actually stupider.
Danzig never even said he liked Trump. He just said he agreed that there should be controls and vetting regarding who enters the country. A bunch of lazy and opportunistic journalists made clickbait headlines about it and lazy readers/fans reacted accordingly.

As for the Ministry song . . . . yeah, it shouldn’t be any surprise that Ministry (well, Al specifically, at least) are radically left to anyone that spent more than 2 minutes following the band or the song/album titles. Even more ironic that their content in the last 14 years has been almost EXCLUSIVELY “political” and raging against the right.

Aside from that, again, these clowns are not even reacting against what Al believes, stands for, or supports. They’re lashing because of a song title.

I don’t know what the song is actually about even. Sometimes artists write from a first person view about something they themselves are not even part of just to try and get some understanding or dialogue . . . . or even to parody it for exposure of lunacy.

Look at Jello/ DK . . . . “Jock-o-Rama”, “Kinky Sex Makes The World Go Round”, “CA Uber Alles”, “Kill The Poor” . . . take any of these (or any other of his many tracks) at face value and you’re a complete idiot.

It’s just so stupid. Aside from that . . . who fucking cares anyway? Do we have to listen to only artists who align with our opinions and views on stuff? How boring is that? A bunch of these same dipshits will have stuff like MAYHEM in their collection that they are fine with. I guess killing people, suicide, cannibalism . . . yeah, ain’t no big thing. But God forbid someone disagree with you on something like healthcare, immigration policy, or voting precincts.

It doesnt look that bad. A little dull, but a huge step up from the usual autism in their last few covers (Relapse, From Beer)

I agree. Unless theyre blatant racists or pedos or some shit you shouldnt be so narrow minded about what artists you listen to. People who do are just robbing themselves of the listening experience.

Edit: Some crybaby booger eater on youtube swore he tossed out his Ministry collection HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sample sounded pretty good… sounds like somebody got a new sample pack for their virtual drums or used actual ones

Sin has grown well into the role of Ministry guitarist on the latter releases, I just hope the new record doesn’t trade the 00-era’s “prong-isms” for “pissing razor-isms” if you catch my drift

As for the cover, I’m a but indifferent. Not bad, not very good… as most of the covers in their discography. [:P]

edit: Checked out the live clip of “antifa” in the old songs live thread - kinda got an “animosity” vibe off of it, which is a good thing.

I wonder if it’s supposed to look a little cheesy on purpose? It reminds me a lot of mid-80s metal albums, particularly what Slayer was doing for awhile.

It actually reminds me as if it could be some of the background “people” of any Cannibal Corpse album. Like if you looked hard enough at the Live Cannibalism album cover you’d see it hiding there on the front cover with the rest of the weird shit.

It’s terrible, but still not as bad as FBTE.

They never do.
Fucking drama queen liars.
I’d actually have a weird level of respect if they really did such cleansings . . . . of course it would also prompt me to inquire what other bands they listen to so I could force further acts of moral consistency.

The Last Sucker was more pathetic than Rio Grand Blood
Relapse was more pathetic than The Last Sucker
From Beer to Eternity was more pathetic than Relapse
Amerikkkant will somehow find a new level of suck lower than all the others.
Al is a fucking senile bedwetter.

I’ll take FBTE over Relapse any day of the week…and Rio Grande and Last Sucker I just find to be interchangeable…While I recognize that none of the Dubya albums or anything post-Dubya will ever reach the heights of anything from Land to Animositisomina, I still don’t hate any of it as others seem to…yeah they are big dumb thrash albums but oh well…I still find some fun value in them…this is where Al is now…I actually though FBTE took some chances at getting away from the formula a bit…I can only hope the new one will tread some new water…

Yeah, I see people complain about FBTE being the same album as Relapse or (insert post-Barker record here) and it makes me wonder if they even listened to it, because it really does try to dip its toe in different directions outside the usual comfort zone and feels a teensy bit experimental at times. Definitely my favorite record they’ve put out since at least RGB, maybe longer.

FBTE is as a whole better than Relapse, but I can’t get past the awful title and artwork. I know this is shallow, but I just can’t. It is so stupid and juvenile. The title makes zero sense and the photo on the front doesn’t tie to the album at all. The music itself is adventurous and at times interesting.
Relapse is a cool title considering it was Al’s first comeback, it fit…the artwork is Ministry’s worst and one of the crappiest of all time for that matter.

Yeah, valid points… but if I dismissed albums based on their crappy artwork (over the decades)I would have missed out on a lot of great music…they can’t all be winners from a visual perspective…

I’ll get in on his FBTE discussion.
I like FBTE. It’s got Punch In The Face. One song that gets quite a bit of rotation from me. I think it’s probably my favorite of the post Barker era. Hail To His Majesty is a nice change of pace too. I think Last Sucker is my favorite of the W albums. I think the title track is definitely the stand out track of those Albums (It’s got a catchy chorus). Wasn’t really a fan of Relapse nothing too memorable on that album.

Relapse and FBTE are equally bad to me. I would maybe give a slight, VERY SLIGHT edge to Relapse for Double Tap, Freefall, and the United Forces cover, and I barely like those songs, but they eclipse any piece of crap that was recorded for FBTE.

Hearing Al proclaim “I’m Al Fucking Jourgensen” was one of the most disappointing recorded moments in Ministry’s history. Punch In The Face is un-listenable, from Al’s roardy-roar vocals, to the super-annoying, chopped up, sputtering sound bytes that are some of the worst exercises in sampling in a Ministry song. “The Horror” might be the only good track on this mess because Al doesn’t open his Cookie Monster mouth and bark something stupid on it. “Leason Unlearned” is hands-down the worst Ministry song EVER.

Both of these shit heaps make The Last Sucker sound like a decent Ministry album in comparison.

No sir, I don’t like them. :stuck_out_tongue:
