MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has released the following statement:
"After 10 years, I have decided to quit MEGADETH to pursue my own musical interests.
"I want to thank Dave Mustaine and the entire MEGADETH family, as well as thanking all the amazing MEGADETH fans around the world!!! I truly appreciate all of you.

Well, I was going to wait on this decision, but…I’m officially resigning from my post as Megadeth’s ‘merch booth dude.’
While I remain grateful to Dave Mustaine for allowing me this opportunity, irreconcilable creative differences are now pushing me along a different path. Having to rationalize the high price of ‘Rust in Peace’ branded potato peelers to the band’s faithful fans is no longer something I see a future in.
I’m happy for all of you that supported me during this incredible run, and I hope you will all join me on my next merch booth adventure!
I still like Megadeth. But whoever is responsible for last year’s abortion “Supercollider” or whatever it was called . . . . holy crap! Worst album ever. By anyone. In the history of the Universe. Sounded more like Nickleback than Megadeth.
Oh, also, I will no longer be providing psychiatric services to Dave’s 2 Great Danes, his chinchilla, or his goldfish. I am resigning to pursue other career options. I would like to thank everyone, of course, for the relationship we’ve had thus far.

I doubt Lombardo would want to get mixed up in Dave Mustaine’s assholery, after having worked with Kerry King and getting burned yet again. He seems like he’s not willing to waste more time on something his heart’s not really in. He just put something up on his FB page about going to South America to play some of that Fantomas shite that some of you like, though [:)]

He is phenomenal, he could bring a lot to Megadeth, but then again his style isn’t that much like Megadeth’s normal drumming style i suppose. It’d be cool, but i’d rather some other poor sap who hasn’t had such shit treatment join instead, so he can get a valuable bit of toughening up, first-hand, from the King of Assholes, Mr Dave Mustaine.
Maybe Nick Barker will get the opportunity of a lifetime and occupy the throne that such greats like Gar Samuelson and Nick Menza have also sat on! Maybe if he’s lucky enough, he’ll get to stay long enough to play on Super Collider II, featuring Legendary Executive Producer, Bob Rock!

I just want to tell everyone that I COULD be playing guitar with Megadeth but chose not to.
I have the unfortunate news that I too have had to decline the offer to join as the new guitarist, but only because nerve damage in my arm has left me unable to play.
