I saw them live 3 times and it was amazing, mind blowing. Especially the Lateralus tour in 2001.

It’s true they’re not terribly innovative but is that a bad thing? They’re not just copying other bands.

And in the end, different people have a different emotional reaction to different music. Some may find Tool boring, Maynard a douchebag and I understand that but don’t agree.

By the way, Maynard is a nickname he got while in the army. He was jimmy at school… or Jim…

I’m a fan. I think he’s a bit on the arrogant side. But, I think that’s his public persona. I like his three bands as well, but they’re far from perfect. I think 10,000 Days is kinda boring. And the first Puscifer album went absolutely nowhere. And thankfully I’m not one of the poor suckers who went to APC’s summer tour only to realize that it’s actually a Emotive tour. Yep, he pulled a jourgensen on that one.

Perhaps, I should have paraphrased it better in regard to genre or whatever you want to call it. Of course there are unique vocalist all over the map, but comparing different styles is like comparing apples to oranges. And I find his approach has more color to it and his studio efforts not to shabby and one dimensional.

Tool is the sum of its parts, of which Maynard is just one. The best part of Tool is the drummer, Danny Carey, who is excellent.

Tool are never quite as good as they seem to be/should be/made out to be. But they do have two quality albums under their belt.

10,000 Days is nothing special and is a marked step down from Lateralus.

Gerda disappeared because she is busy writing her book. It’s coming out to counter Al’s book that will be published around the same time.

Al’s book is entitled “Just Some Band I Was In” and Gerda’s will be called “Mnistyry, teh years early 1987-1903”
