Downloaded it. Will listen to it today…
There’s some things about it that I like, but overall it’s a lot like “No Reflection” from his last record and the lyrics…I dunno just not very engaging to me. It’s a nice groove though and catchy. Definitely stronger than recent efforts but still not nailing it I feel.
1 min in and it’s ok. A bit generic, but listenable, unlike the last couple of albums i tried to listen to. Quite a catchy little number, i like it.
Listening now and halfway through. So far so good. It’s not going to set the world on fire, but the production is really good. Makes me wonder if that was intentional or if his advisors recommended Bates…it’s good stuff
Such a great production job, you can hear his vocals deteriorate…
That photo of him is pretty cool.
Shame about the song.

It’s OK for what it is. I feel a little bad for anyone going to Manson at this point for musical creativity (or even technical ingenuity)…
I feel like Void’s videos are actually better than MM’s nowadays. Perhaps he could be hired as a creative consultant or something.
It’s true.
And Void’s in better shape, too.

Agreed, haven’t seen a good MM video since '99…

'97 for me…
I thought the videos for “The Nobodies” and “Disposable Teens” were definitely solid!
…and flash forward to his last album ‘Born Villain’ the ones from that one weren’t terrible either…
His whole album release campaign strategy seems to have really fallen apart which I don’t fully understand because he used to be so on point…but I don’t think all of the content has necessarily been bad over the years since his “heyday”.
Relistening to the newest. I’m impressed. Whether its intentional or not it seems to take a note out of the Doors and Danzig ballads handbook, which is not exactly original but it’s not like its trying too hard.
Tracks 1/2/7 and 9 are awful so if you gotta download it, just omit those.

Not surprising considering one of Manson’s first tours was as opener for Danzig and he’s obviously a huge Doors fan, having covered them in the past and playing live with the surviving Doors more recently (right before the death of Ray Manzarek).
I still haven’t heard the full album because I’m waiting til the official release but it seems like it’s going to be something of a return to form by all counts.
To be clear, though, Tyler Bates’ presence on it is really apparent and this could’ve easily been as limp as his last record without his contributions. It always kills me when artists are not open to collaboration like they could, as talented as one thinks they are even people like Prince could benefit - and he puts out something like 39275342093875234 albums a year (wonder why no one buys them?)

That one’s OK.
He needs to rehire Madonna Wayne Gacey to add some weird keyboard parts. I miss that stuff.
The new album can be streamed in full here:
It’s definitely the more mature, refined and well thought-out cohesive album that some have been waiting for from him.
