Marilyn Manson 'Born Villain'

Marilyn Manson appeared on the cover of Revolver Magazine where he gives an in depth interview about ‘Born Villain’.

The band is currently in Australia at the launch of a world tour before the release of ‘Born Villain’.

There are a bunch more radio and video interviews with him floating up on the internet as well…

Manson names his current influences as Killing Joke, Joy Division, Revolting Cocks, Bauhaus and Birthday Party. Sounds kinda promising.

yh but u know its gonna suuuuuuck

No. You’ve already decided you’re going to decide that it sucks before hearing it.

I’m sure it’ll have some good songs. Manson can still pull some good shit out.

I’m sure it will. Saw a video of them playing Antichrist superstar. He sounded pretty good and on point for once. Made me a little more hopeful.

Live they are more together than on the last tour. He still needs to quit drink/drug IMO but that will not happen this time around. He has more fire though and I’m really rooting for him.

I don’t think he can pull a true comeback without dropping the drink and drugs, especially as far as live performance is concerned.

But I think this album is definitely sounding like it will be a step in the right direction. He has a good attitude, is interested in experimenting sonically, and he’s admitting that his past few outings were not up to par with the classics–a big step for such a massive ego and a definite sign for improvement.

Who the fuck is even in the band at this point?

Manson and Twiggy Ramirez, and two new people: Fred Sabian (from Goon Moon) on bass and Jason Sutter (hired gun for many big rock bands) on drums.

been kinda dissatisfied with anything MM released post-“Holy Wood”, and even that album seems kinda weak

so dunno

well maybe it can be cool again who knows

Golden age Of Grotesque was actually not too bad, it was not as good as holy wood but I would for the most part agree with your statement.

you always come back so angry. Why? So you’re comin’ after me now that Gunnar has proved to be too much for you? You big sissy. What a pathetic Loser.

Nobody has to take any advice from me. that’s one of the differences between you and I. I don’t demand people listen to a rake on pavement with the street cleaner going by out of gear and call THEM snobs for not liking it. People can listen to what they want this is just my 2 cents. but again unlike you I don’t Demand change back for my 2 cents.

I liked TGAOG a lot more than Holy Wood. Holy Wood dragged on a little too long. Would’ve been better as a 13-14 track album compared to the 17 tracks. Born Again and Burning Flag were terrible. Not a fan of Death Song either (that’s a debatable one). The first half is great. The second, not so much.

I liked the mood and lyrical content of holy Wood better. Golden age just seemed like power pop to me, but still good. I just prefer the sound and Lyrics for Holy Wood better.

“I’m not afraid to die for what I believe in”

?!?!

For a guy who rants and raves so often about being an individual…he sure knows how to come out with the most cliche ridden, derivative shit imaginable.

Manson is a poorly imagined clone of everything decent that came before him. Probaby why the kids loved him and then left him in droves after they discovered all of the bands that influenced him - and realised how badly he had trashed their image.

Manson is a big sissy poser.

He was all Mr. Ooky Spooky and glad to be the “Antichrist Superstar” and whatnot and play with the media. Then he started getting poo-pooed by concerned parents and whatnot after Columbine and he started crying like a little emo baby.

The mood was great for the first six tracks. After that, it just wandered into something completely hit and (mostly) miss, and completely something different. tgaog was at least cohesive. Had its stinkers, but still.

emo peak was reached when dita ditched him for alchoholism and he came out with eat me drink me and high end of low

i dunno. acs was good. mechanical was nice too. holy wood was kinda ok. after that, bleh.

GAOG was his last great album. I liked maybe half of EMDM. High End had it’s moments but was a piece of shit overall. But I’m still stoked about the new album after that bit about the influences. I also liked the vid despite what most of you haters on here think.

EMDM is easily his worst album from beginning to end. The High End of Low wasn’t a great album, but it was a vast improvement.
