It’s no longer there.
However…oh hell.
Sorry, I can’t stop laughing.
Yeah it keeps getting deleted from YouTube because
a) it’s sexually explicit
b) it hasn’t been “officially” released to the public yet so we’re getting leaks
Honestly if you youtube it and do a bit of sifting you should find it though. People keep throwing it back up online.
File this story under the most surprising of pairings: “Transformers” superstar Shia LaBeouf and Marilyn Manson have teamed up for Manson’s new music video, “Born Villain.”
So how did these two artists come together? Well, they met at a Kills concert, where LaBeouf, a longtime Manson fan, casually approached the “Beautiful People” singer and struck up a conversation that sparked a genuine friendship.
“Marilyn Manson to me is an indelible figure,” LaBeouf told MTV News, speaking exclusively about the collaboration for the first time. “He’s a big deal to me, and in my childhood, I don’t know of a scarier figure in art. He, in my teenage years, was the scariest thing in the world, so part of me has always been intrigued.”
LaBeouf told Manson that he would love to direct his next video and showed him his previous work, Cage’s “Maniac” clip, as proof that he knows what he’s doing behind the camera.
“I played ‘Maniac’ for [Manson], and he freaked the f— out,” LaBeouf recalled. "Manson goes crazy. Manson’s like, ‘I want you to do my video.’ "
The two then began prep work on “Born Villain,” which draws heavily from very intense, graphic imagery, specifically a famous French surrealist short film, Shakespeare and theology.
“The song has all these references to ‘Macbeth’ and all this Shakespeare and heavy theology, so we tried to make Manson’s ‘Un Chien Andalou’ macabre ‘Macbeth’ — that’s sort of what that became.”
To celebrate the LaBeouf-directed video, which is much more short film than standard clip, LaBeouf and Manson will be appearing together at a one-time-only book signing and screening Thursday at Hennessey + Ingalls bookstore in Los Angeles from 8 to 10 p.m. The 18-and-up event is private and limited to 150 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to receive tickets, those who wish to attend must purchase the limited-edition “Born Villain” photo book at the Hennessey + Ingalls website, which also comes with a copy of the short film.
Unsurprisingly, the imagery in the video is very graphic and very adult. Those who only know LaBeouf from his clean-cut film roles will likely be shocked by this directorial effort, but LaBeouf isn’t worried about those reactions.
“This, for me, this is a really cool diversion for me when I’m not making a movie,” LaBeouf explained. "It gives me an opportunity to work with musicians I admire who I would otherwise never get to work with in any other capacity. I really have a fun time doing it. It allows me to be creative in another art form and work with heroes.
“I also think there are fans of mine who aren’t fans of Manson’s and vice versa; that’s why I think our collaboration is interesting. I don’t really see it on paper,” he continued. "I don’t see fans of mine who went to see ‘Holes’ when they were 12 loving this. I don’t think my audience is the only thing I should exercise my artistic muscle for. I don’t necessarily always do things for the audience; this is one of those.
“I love Marilyn,” LaBeouf said. “Manson is like a brother to me now. He’s a real sweet dude, a real close friend.”

Just saw it.
Yeah, it was pretty explicit (close up of exposed vaginas and skin being pierced etc).
I dunno - it does come off as being a tad too Jodorowsky.
The song wasn’t my cup of tea.

I was waiting for someone else to reply before posting my thoughts. Yes the opening scene is definitely an homage to ‘Holy Mountain’.
Jodorowsky is a huge influence on Manson to the point where he actually served as the “priest” at Manson’s wedding to Dita von Teese dressed in his Alchemist costume.
I think the video is superbly done and Shia will probably resurrect some interest in Manson with this because he took Marilyn out of the egocentric pity party and got him to do something much more arty and abstract. Shia should definitely get credit as a talented director in his own right for this piece.
However I think it is trying a bit too hard especially with the hammy “esoteric” spoken dialogue. (Manson has always been a bad actor and his delivery of the words is hard to make out at times).
As for the song, yes I think it is a bit subpar. I am hoping the new album will have real drums unlike the last two I believe. (Manson has been pulling a Jourgensen of his own with fake drums lately for those who don’t know…) Can anyone else confirm that the drumming on this song is all programmed/drum machine? His best work was drum machine on the verse and then real drums on the chorus or just real drums the whole way through so I hope they bring back that formula for this album…
With Ginger Fish gone the drum situation will surely suffer. I don’t think many people (fans of the band included) realized how important Ginger Fish’s drumming was to the classic Marilyn Manson sound.
Marilyn has got a great songwriting team now with Fred Sabian and Twiggy (who put out great stuff together as Goon Moon) and also Chris Vrenna. I think Manson is the one holding things back musically. I doubt he listens to any new music and he seems to want to stick to his comfort zone.
I feel they need a Rick Ruben type to get one last great album out of them.
Either way I am excited about this video and pleasantly surprised in Shia LaBeouf as the director. I think with more pairings like this Manson could be halfway to resurrecting his career. The release party for this video was pretty high profile with a lot of celebrities in attendance. I feel like Manson is due for a comeback in this decade if he would just get his shit together.
meh, song sounded ok. hopefully it’s not the best one on the Album, but if that’s the worst it gets, album’s got potential.
it kinda reminded me of Mechanical Animals (album not song) The Dope show is kinda average as far as Manson songs go but it was the first single and kinda hit me the way this song hit me.
BUT, you can’t judge Mechanical just on dope show. Dope show grew on me but the whole rest of the album just opened up to me right away. So maybe this album will do the same… here’s to hoping.
When is the new album due??
Late,

Early 2012 according to a recent interview with Chris Vrenna.
Jodorowsky rules
Jodorowsky rules
Yes, he does. What do you think of ‘Born Villain’?
lol that is not ‘Born Villain’ that’s Manson’s recent interview on some retarded radio show with the guy who did the Roger Rabbit voice and is apparently his good friend.
The interview is hilarious (especially if you watch the videos) but hardly informative.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Let me first note that I watched this trailer with the sound off, but still . . . . what . . . the . . . fudge?
I don’t know if I can watch 90 minutes of this insanity, but as a quick montage it’s quite ridiculously awesome!
‘Holy Mountain’ is an absolutely brilliant film I recommend it to anyone. It’s not just a bunch of bizarre LSD bullshit when you look deeper.
Jodorowsky is great… that video is not.
To be honest it looks like film students doing a Jodorowsky rip off in the basement of their school.
But I wasn’t expecting anything special from LeBeef.
The song is bland; the build up and verses are ok but it needs a much better chorus (instead of just squealing like a pig). The spoken word bits are terrible. It sounds like a drum machine to me, at least outside the chorus.
If Manson put in a bit more effort he might get Jodorowsky to do a video for him.
Void, do you like El Topo too? I prefer El Topo to the Holy Mountain. I think the latter has some magnificent displays but the El Topo has a stronger story and feels like a western. When westerns are done right, there’s no beating them.
I LOVED the beginning (everything up to the title screen – i.e. the first 1:40) but after that it was just crap.
And yeah, you guys are right. Manson has gotta be the worst actor/ dramatic reader of all time.
But seriously, the first portion of the film was brilliant in my opinion.

G, catch the Holy Mountain, you’ll like it loads. That first scene of the MM video is just a cheap knock off of a scene in Holy Mountain. But beware, there is a scene in the film where you will (I guarantee) wince uncontrollably and cover your crotch.

This.
Another lame ass, high school art student with a budget attempt at shock.
He’s smart. You can tell that by listening to what he has to say in interviews. And he’s pretty clued in to any number of really cool and interesting artists and musicians.
He’s got in all inside him - it’s just that he’s not very good at getting it all out there. Even though his intensions are good, the end result always ends up feeling forced and hokey and high school-ish.

I’ve never (that I know of) scene a Jodorowsky film. I’m generally cynical and bitter about most films and have a pretty low threshold for artfag stuff. I do love Westerns and I like inexplicable weird stuff, but there doesn’t seem to be much pattern as to what or why.
This is all just a rambling intro to my question . . . Do you think a jaded old bastard like me should watch “Holy Mountain” or “Topo” for my first taste?
I remember watching the trailer for “Topo” a few months back and it just seemed so bizzarre and pretentious that I felt I had to see it. And tonight seeing the ad for “Holy Mountain” . . . . HAHAHAHA!!!
Where do I start, Dude?
