Marilyn Manson 'Born Villain'

EDIT - Manson is claiming it was just the flu:

Right. Flu.
Exhaustion is always a safe bet too.

Alice Cooper says that during his wild days the only time he DIDN’T drink was while performing, because there was no way he could get through a show that way (although he did carry around a whiskey bottle full of Coke to make it look like he was boozing).

Now he can’t get through a show unless he plays 18 holes the day before…[crazy]

Here’s how shallow and obsessed with my heroes I can be . . . I sort of want to learn golf, not because I find it interesting or think it looks at all enjoyable, but because, if I ever get to hang out with the Coop I’d like to have that as a possible common topic of discussion.

I already know that he drinks Diet Coke with Lemon, so that’s a good ice breaker too, hahaha!!!

I bet he’d also be down to talk Jesus.

I’m sure you could pull off the wardrobe…

Last time I went on the golf course I wasn’t welcomed too kindly . . .

That’s the funniest part of the whole movie.

That’s one of my top movies of all time. There’s a crapload of classic scenes in it.

  • Surplus Nazi – “Think about it!”

  • WhammyBurger – “Whamburger with cheese, Wham fries, and a choco-whammy-shake . . .”

  • Korean Market – “Let’s roll back prices!”

It’s seriously one of the greatest movies ever made.

Yeah that movie is fantastic!!
One of my favorite parts is where the gangsters try to shake him own for his briefcase and he (if I remember right) hits one of the dudes in the head with a bat and the dudes take off running and Douglas starts chasing after them yelling at them, “hey do you still want my briefcase? Hey you forgot the briefcase!!” fuckin excellent “I’m not gonna take it anymore” movie!!

That Nazi fuck was a crazy scene… “You’re him? you and me, we’re the same you and me.” then he tries to give a spent canister of zyklon b

Eureka it’s not supposed to be funny, It’s not really a comedy, perhaps dark comedy but comedy is certainly not the genre.

I went to Wendy’s a couple years ago after I bought Falling Down and bought their W Cheeseburger. It’s a double cheeseburger with thousand island. In other words, their version of In & Out. I open up the wrapper and it was just like when Michael Douglas gets the burger in the movie! “You see, this is what I’m talking about.”

I know. I’m laughing cuz I can relate (minus the creepy stalker stuff). I wish I could just not give a fuck and go on a rampage sometimes. I’m actually a little bummed that he gets killed in the end.

I’m sure you guys have all heard this one, but this was my first introduction to FLA. I didn’t know they were sampling Falling Down til years later. Some of the best sampling I’ve ever heard.

Falling Down is shitty, but it has the benefit of being hilarious.

I think it’s Schumaker’s second best movie (after Lost Boys).

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

D-FENS!

  1. Again, “Falling Down” is one of the best movies ever made. Anyone who doesn’t agree is wrong and probably prefers “faggot shit”.

  2. The movie itself, and the general subject matter, is not comedy, per se, but almost all of the individual scenes of conflict and confrontation were intentionally written to be hilarious and over the top. Douglas’ lines are better than any Schwarzenegger one-liners. They’re wicked and funny. He’s kind of like a more talkative and unhinged Clint Eastwood. You can say the movie is dark and has, ultimately, a serious theme, but it is also most definitely funny.

“Robocop” isn’t a comedy either. Just sayin’.

I consider the funny moments.more like a comedic relief to keep the movie from being TOO dark. I love the movie though. All this talk got me to order the blu ray.

Falling Down is a great film…we have all had that moment in traffic where you just wanna get the fuck out,go on a walkabout and see where the day takes you…

Oddly enough,I was just talking about theis film with someone last week…it has been a while since I have seen it…

I completely agree!!

Cool. Let me know if there’s any cool extras or anything with it. And I understand your point about the film. The soundtrack and directing style gives it a real ominous and dark feel. I feel like this movie almost makes the CITY an extra character. It’s like an organic, demonic presence that just makes everything seem kind of void and claustrophobic. As you see everyone around the place it’s like they’ve all just given up themselves. They’ve either turned their brains off completely and become mechanised puppets or they’ve become hardened assholes, but there’s little sense of freedom or individuality. Even Predegast comes very close to just cashing it all in and getting the eff out (not because he wants to, but because his wife has cracked her egg). He’s like almost a Messiah figure. You watch the film and see that the city is about to lose (from the viewer’s perspective) the one positive element it has.

Yeah, it’s dark as heck.

FYI: it’s kind of fresh on my mind because I was lucky enough to have it as one of the film options on my last Emirates’ flight.
