so pathetically desperate to offend someone ANYONE.
I certainly agree with this if we’re discussing his persona/stage antics.

I don’t know if this is the case anymore i mean, during the summers skayer/manson tour his stage outfit bascically consisted off a cut off concert t. I think he did the bono boxing gear costume during fight song, but it’s nowhere near the ohgr style stilts and outfits of old.
[I definitely wouldn’t say better, maybe stonger. I’ve seen AIC 3x. Once w/ Layne and the last 2 w/ DuVall, and I will say he’s pretty f’ing good, but he’s no Layne Staley.
Staley was undoubtedly a good singer: very distinctive and could really let it rip. I think his best (or at least one of his best) vocals was on ‘I Stay Away’. However he had the habit, the whole way through the AIC catalogue, of doing this nasally country n’ western sort of moan. I cant stand that, but hey, maybe its just me. DuVall seems to avoid doing that, his voice is clearer.
Still I’d say we can expect some good AIC riffs from Jerry. He needs to get back on form again and not be playing second fiddle to the likes of Nickelback.
the only interesting thing about manson is dita.
oh yeah. she’s gone, so never mind.
honestly, i don’t get the appeal aside from the drag angle and twiggy–or is that the same thing.
Really sad to hear about wes, so much for integrity… I think manson’s just flown off the deep end, and tje music for the new album could possibly be very good, but i get a feeling he’ll ruin it for me.
Well for those hung up on Manson himself, there might be instrumental tracks leaked that you could still enjoy. That’s what happened with ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’. Either way I think people should try and reserve judgement until they hear the new material. You might be surprised. You might not. I honestly don’t know what to expect really and I’ve been watching this album slowly come together since Twiggy and Manson reunited on the second leg of the Rape of the World tour so I know as much as anyone outside of his camp.
I can tell you more information though, which will no doubt feed the flames. Here are three confirmed track titles:
“Devour” (track 1)
“I Wanna Kill You Like They Do In the Movies” (he is shooting a 9 min. music video for this)
“Armagoddamnmotherfuckinggeddon”
Additionally, the album will be released in May and it has been described as heavy and raw. Ruby Cody, his friend and a famous magician, has leaked this info on his MySpace page.
He’s also mentioned some “swampy acoustics and a coven of witchy girls singing” on at least one track.
No flames here, thanks for the info. I’ve been a fan since 1994. Albums have declined in quality since Portrait but I appreciate them all, some more than others. My favorite aspect of Manson when I first got into it was Daisy’s guitar work. Unfortunately, that was lost with Antichrist when he quit the band and I can’t say that I blame him (I think the only track that sounds anything like Portrait is Wormboy). The true core of it all though has probably been Manson’s lyrics…the music has since gone a little on the wayside.
Best albums, IMO, will always be the pre-Portrait stuff, Portrait, and Smells Like Children. I liked it when it was a band as opposed to Manson and (insert musicians here). Looking forward to the new album though!
Sean Beavan Talks High End Of Low, Reveals Two New Song Titles
Quote:
Before heading to Cleveland I finished mixing and co-producing the latest and perhaps greatest Marilyn Manson effort “The High End of Low” It stars the return of Tiggy Ramirez to the musical drivers seat and also enlisted the talents of producer/programmer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Vrenna.
I came in to help produce the vocal tracks and mix, so it really was the team that finished Antichrist Superstar. This is a great record, Manson is in fine form, writing some of his best lyrics to date. Some of my favorites include “15”, “Arma-God Damn-Mother Fuckin’-Geddon”, and “Four Rusted Horses”. I’m really happy about this record and it was great to have the four of us working together again.
When did this board become Alcoholics Anonymous? I thought you were all out doing coke at Wax Trax! in the 80s. Now you’re busy driving your kids to soccer practice in the minivan [:P]
He was on coke for all of his biggest albums. I don’t see what drugs have to do with anything.
I think it has more to do that he let his ego become so bloated and just got lost in the imagery and mystique of the character he created, forgetting somewhere along the line that the music was also important.
Coke may have played a part in that, but it’s not solely to blame. He’s coherent. Look at his appearance at recent events. He’s no Boy George or something. I don’t think he’s lost it to drugs.
I think that will change with this album, because he seems to have realized the band needs a facelift.

Have you seen any of the videos of his recent performances? He sounds wasted and like completely shit. I used to sound great stuff, hell, even in 03, he sounded good. The drinking, the drugs, AND his ego are affecting not only his “creativity”, but also his stage performance, which has been lacking for the last few years now. I saw a boot of that last show he did, with Wes on guitar - he was out of it. He’s even fallen on stage several times, he’s a mess. He’s a pretty creative and witty guy, and he was definitely on the smack and such even since the beginning, but now with the smug ego he’s obtained over the last several years, he’s a mess.
I heard that he didn’t really pay wes for the shows he did, or at least didn’t for a while. I’m still waiting for the circus show that the lawsuit from madonna is gonna bring.
it’s good to be back to the rise and fall of twiggy ramirez and the dick w/a white nose
I think he’s royally fucked with that lawsuit to be honest. Pogo sues, manson countersues and later drops, and pogo is still heading straight forward with it. Really curious as to what happens, but since pogo’s side brought in new evidence, it’s postponed. I think even manson knows he’s fucked. If not, why drop your suit?
And yeah, apparently at a few of the BLB shows, Wes did say something about not being paid. In the end it all comes down to the mighty nostrils of manson.
I haven’t paid much attention to Manson since ‘Mechanical Animals’ but is this drug problem really that bad? Or is it just because he’s popular its gets blown out of proportion?
Hell, Al’s best years was 95-99 when he was a junkie… well except for his live performances… and maybe it wasn’t his best time but FILTH PIG FUCKING ROCKS DUDE!
I love Filth Pig, but DSotS? No thanks. And the live performance on Sphinctour that I saw left a LOT to be desired.
And yeah, word is he’s got a major drug problem. The foaf story I heard in Atlanta is that he flipped out and trashed his dressing room during the Slayer tour because he wasn’t provided with the cocaine he required to function.

I agree 110% DSOTS was a trainwreck. It really is a difficult album to get into. I hate some of the way the vocals sound on DSOTS. Another thing the artwork for DSOTS is the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen. Can you really blame WB for dropping them after that album? Happy dust should of been the secret song on there too!
On “sphinctour” during lava Al is just sitting on the amps watching Paul go crazy… Yeah it maybe not their best live DVD but it does have a great setlist. ICYDFLSU on the other hand is pure gold [:)][:)]!
