Woolwich machete killing: two men shouting ‘Allah Akbar’ shot by police as ‘soldier beheaded in Islamist terror attack’

Quote from one of the men who hacked and apparently beheaded the man, “We swear by Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you. The only reasons we have done this is because Muslims are dying every day. This British soldier is an eye for an eye a tooth for tooth. We apologise that women had to see this today but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.” - http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/22/woolwich-two-shot-in-police-incident-live-coverage#block-519d0873e4b0371c681f9f85

Here’s a video of one of the attackers speaking to a camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EROXP8JDG9M

Here’s a mirror of it with more video in case the other one is taken down: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d0f_1369235265

(Wish the narrator would stop speaking over him in the beginning)

Brought to you by the religion of peace.

Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God that I am an atheist. Amen.

what’s the point of this post? there are tons of other things that happened in the world this week, yet you choose to post about this. why? do you have a beef with muslims?

Maybe he posted it because the story simply interested him…are you the board police or what?

Good grief, People! Why is it whenever anyone puts up a story about a current event or topic of interest (usually one where people are killed as a result of other peoples’ actions) someone has to bark up about how OTHER things are happening in the world and OTHER people are dying?

If there’s something you want others to pay attention to, how about you put up your own thread and talk about THAT, instead of crying about how people are talking about the Boston Marathon bombing or the Newtown shooting or . . . . or any other talk-worthy news event?

Maybe he posted it because the story simply interested him…are you the board police or what?

i’m just curious.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

Muslims.

what’s the point of this post? there are tons of other things that happened in the world this week, yet you choose to post about this. why? do you have a beef with muslims?

The point of the post is pretty self-explanatory. It’s about an important event that took place and I posted it in hopes of possibly encouraging discussion or maybe even informing people who hadn’t heard about it yet.

Yeah, there are tons of other things that happened in the world. Does that mean we should not focus on specific events and just say, “Fuck it, a bunch of other stuff happened. I have a one track mind.” Why didn’t you post about one or two of those “tons of things” that happened?

So yeah, I chose to post about this because it was a significant event and it’s pretty crazy seeing the dude who committed the act talking into a camera with a knife and cleaver in his bloody hands right after he’d hacked a guy up.

Oh, and I have beef with Muslim extremists and anyone who does terrible crap like this to someone because of their religious beliefs or for any other ridiculous reason they can come up with to try and justify their disgusting behavior. Is that a problem too?

It’s a crazy story, the front of every paper today is one of the killers shouting his manifesto to the cameras of passersby who were unfortunate enough to witness the murder, his hands covered in blood as he waves a large knife around crazily. The UK is already a powderkeg of racial violence waiting to explode, now we have the fucking English Defence League out attacking mosques as well as a result of this murder. Don’t need those assholes stirring trouble up.

I don’t think these guys were seriously allied with any terror group, just some self-important idiots perverting religion for their own ends. They looked drugged up to fuck anyway. The thing that surprised me is that they only targeted the soldier, they didn’t attempt to hurt any of the civilians who saw what happened. They seemed to be warning the people that the British government would soon be treating them in the same way, rather than them actually threatening the people themselves.

The whole thing’s very disturbing. It doesn’t do any good blaming Muslims either. Do you blame Christianity every time a white guy kills someone who’s of a different race or religion? No, of course you don’t. While i agree that the communities involved could do more to educate their people about their religion and dissuade them from violence, as well as to target radical elements in their own community, this is the fault of individuals, not a religion as a whole, and to just jump up and say “Oh typical bloody Muslims” is idiotic and playing into the hands of white extremists, who are just as bad. Racism of any kind is for morons.

Also, that attitude of “why are you talking about this when other things are happening in the world” is ridiculous. This is one of the other things that are happening in the world, part of the problem in the world today is that people are so self-absorbed and don’t know or care what’s happening in other countries or even other states in some cases. To take an interest in areas outside your own shouldn’t be regarded as weird.

I’ve been reading they’d converted to Islam and judging by what that asshole was preaching into the camera that played a major role in it. But yeah, it’s a touchy topic. As their is some merit in the anger and fear some people have towards them and then there’s just violent idiots who’ll jump on any excuse to burn down buildings and kill people.

I don’t live in the UK but I do know that shit has been getting very, VERY tense in regards to how people feel about Muslims. At the core it’s not a race thing because a Muslim isn’t a race (just like a Christian isn’t a race). It’s just morons see a brown skinned person and think he’s a Muslim and then attack him because of the awful shit Muslim extremists have done. I obviously disagree with this logic and don’t subscribe to “an eye for an eye”.

I can understand the concern of some people in the UK about Muslims. I mean, goddamn, look what happened and has happened. I detest all religions but I don’t hate people who are a part of them and who don’t push their beliefs on people or murder others in the name of their god.

However, these idiots who expect every country they live in to abide by their ancient beliefs need to just fuck off. If they want to live in a society where people are stoned and women get acid thrown in their faces then go to a prominently Muslim country where their little book of “rules” is law. I personally don’t want to live in the dark ages and would rather we as human beings move forward rather than stay stuck in the past.

Absolutely agreed on religion as a whole, it annoys me these people getting all wound up about whose God is the biggest. There’s no place in a civilised society for archaic bullshit like that. In the UK there’s a feeling that you can’t say anything about anyone without being labelled racist.

There’s an element of that, definitely. People pussyfoot around, instead of just saying “yes, there are organised groups of UK Asians who groom, drug and rape white pre-teen girls because they see them as easy meat and wouldn’t have the balls to do it to members of their own community”. People think if you say that these people are absolute savages and live in medieval times that makes you racist. It doesn’t, it’s just political correctness gone mad not to be able to criticise a group of scum like that because they aren’t white.

On the other hand there are plenty of white bigots who sit about saying shit like “Bloody Pakis coming over here with their Muslim god, taking our jobs!”. Well, maybe not exactly like that, but along those lines. Those people are just as much to blame for the situation we find ourselves in. I think immigrants should be made to integrate into society.

For instance i’ve been to parts of London where i seemed to be the only white person, which i found bizarre, and slightly intimidating if i’m honest. A group of Asian kids got on the bus i was on looking to stab a black kid they thought was on the bus, and nobody could do jack shit about it. I dunno if the driver left the bus or what, but it didn’t go any further and everyone had to get off. People should not be living among only their own kind in weird little versions of their own country.

Society should be fully integrated, if you want to come here, you speak English. You should not wear veils, you should not force your women into subservience and you should not be allowed to come here to claim benefits from the government if you hate the way of life in the UK. There should be citizenship lessons and tests like in the US.

People think France is racist for banning the veil some Muslim women wear, or are forced to wear; France may be racist, yeah, but asking people to fit in with everyone else in the country is not too much to ask. If i went to a Muslim country and forced my ways on them, blasting metal all day long, smoking weed and drinking beer and preaching about how Allah was an imaginary asshole, i think i could be considered a bit of a prick, rightly so. So why is it ok for people to come to the UK and do exactly that? Fuck those people, and fuck the native English who don’t want to accept foreigners.

England and the other old colonial powers like France have huge numbers of immigrants from the countries they used to rule, which is only fair. We invaded them, made them slaves and abused them, we can’t really complain when they want shelter in our country.

Of course Muslims (in so blanket a term) are not the blame. There is merit in assessing Islam as being the worst of a bad bunch (the major institutionalised religions) - it is the most stagnant, misogynistic and hysterical of them - but most Muslims don’t do like these Woolwich dickheads do. It sort of comes to the same argument as gun control - guns don’t kill people, people kill people with guns. If you view the Koran (or even interpretations of the Koran) as a means of conducting violence, it becomes a weapon.

The tricky part is assessing whether those who kill in the name of Islam would have been killers anyway. There might be an argument to say that they might not have, thus you have a distinction from guns.

People don’t necessarily become killers just because they can access a gun. It makes it easier for them to become killers but the availability of a gun surely doesn’t swing one from being peaceful to murderous. Islam however might have that effect. It is most probable though that someone who becomes a fundamentalist and kills in the name of a religion is already a bit soft in the head. It’s very logical to put restrictions on mentally ill/unhinged people accessing guns, so should the same principle apply to religion?

Trying to deal with religious extremism is a monumentally difficult task to take on.

fuck Islam !! Fucking scourge and I’m tired of the PC shit.

fair enough. there’s nothing wrong with talking about current events. i do all the time. it just bothers me when people focus on all the negative in the muslim world. i mean there are almost 2 billion of them, of course there are going to be thousands of crazies.

as for other current events… apparently there’s a video out there of the mayor of toronto smoking crack. also, the oklahoma hurricane?

Wasn’t there another prominent mayor caught a few years back “sucking the glass dick” too? What is it with powerful or successful people and crack? It seems such a low-rent, classless drug. And yeah, the events in Oklahoma in the past few days were absolutely horrific, it’s terrible to see such immense death and destruction being visited on everyday people.

Crazy ass weather in this part of the country. I live in north Texas, neighboring Oklahoma, we even had our own tornado about 2 weeks ago that killed a few people. Dont think it got national coverage though. Then the Oklahoma one hit.

About 20 years now . . . but the most well-known crack-smoking mayor case in the states was that of Mayor Marion Barry (of Washington DC). He was caught (on audio and video as well) smoking the rock with some nice ghetto ass hookers.

The great part is that after all that and a brief stint in the pen,he got fucking re-elected!!! That guy was a true pimp, bro…

^
HAHA!!! I’d forgotten that. Definitely a real OG PIMP.

Well, brighten the mood by posting some positive, inspirational, stories, where religious fanatics did something beneficial for a community. And make a thread for the crack smoking mayor while you’re at it. Don’t give me shit for making a thread about a current world event just because several things happened in one day (this is quite common, by the way).

And what about the Oklahoma “hurricane”? Is there anyone unaware of it? What is there to discuss about it?
“We gotta get rid of these fucking hurricanes, man. Get 'em out of this country.”
“Don’t say that, man. That’s weatherist. Also, ‘hurricane’ is not the preferred nomenclature. It was a tornado.”
“Okay… Well, I’ve got nothing against all weather. Just crazy tornadoes killing people.”
