My brother’s reading the comic now, it makes it explicit that Fury Road is set after Beyond Thunderdome apparently, there’s a “previously on Mad Max” bit at the start that shows all 3 films in the recap. The comic is between Beyond Thunderdome and Fury Road, Max is trying to make money so he can repair the Interceptor, goes to Gastown and takes part in a new version of Thunderdome where more than two men enter. He says it’s brilliant.
Dammit!!! Gonna be over at EBay if y’all need me.
There’s torrents for it apparently, but i’m not sure where to search
Looks like 2nd print pricing ain’t too bad.
How many issues were there?
Looks like THREE different stories?
Not sure if I should just bite the bullet and buy the comic books or wait and see if they’re gonna issue them in an actual graphic/novel collection/ book form. Anyway, they look totally badass. I know they sold out right away on the first day. My buddy went to one of the nerd stores to get me one and had no luck.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll give 'em a shout.
Pretty much everything gets collected these days. Probably be about 3-4 months after the last issue gets published for it to come out. I’d say buy the issues. Keeps you from having to wait.

Yeah, my local comic shop was sold out of the first issue (which I think was about Immortan Joe and Nux) so I decided to wait for the trade myself.

Doesn’t make sense to me. Wasn’t Max’s car destroyed/blown to bits in Mad Max 2, leading up to him instead driving a different dead vehicle hitched to a camel caravan at the beginning of Thunderdome?
I thought Fury Road took place between 1 and 2…but even then it’s problematic because his car is again destroyed/crushed between two trucks in Fury Road, so how could it be back in 2?
I dunno if there’s any real continuity to be found.

That’s how the comic goes anyway, George Miller wrote it too, so it’s his own explanation of the timeline, rather than another writer doing it.
I picked this book up the other day, but haven’t read it yet. I forgot I had the shop add it to my pulls, so when I picked up the other day, it was a nice surprise.
This isn’t Mad Max, but it is the trailer for the new Mel Gibson film. The final shot in the trailer is kinda Mad Max-like. Film looks decent, he’s an alcoholic tattoo-artist ex-con trying to rescue his daughter from drug lords. It looks like there’s not much in the way of laughs in this one.
Mad Max gets its own [url https://www.wired.com/2016/09/wasteland-mad-max-festival-makes-burning-man-look-lame/?mbid=psocial_DAILYDOT]desert festival.
Looks insane.
Damn. R.I.P. Toecutter.
Also, I’ll just roll my eyes here because I went to make a comment FOUR YEARS after my last, to express respect to Joe . . . and I’m already getting robospanked for it, hahahahaha!!!
Am I sure I’m providing adequate time for others?
Oh, gee, I don’t know . . . Acid, would you like to erase that and take another 5 years to consider whether it’s worth sharing?
RIP Toecutter…he will ride eternal,shiny and chrome…
Funny. It gave me a similar scolding for updating a topic so old.
I like the look of this new format, but some of these rules are wonky.
Hilarious!
But indeed, RIP Toecutter/Immortan Joe…WITNESS HIM!!
