Anime? Oh, crap.
I wait 25 years after “Thunderdome” to get a damn cartoon? What a joke. Get me my giant hammer. I need to smash a few skulls.

They’ve been talking about this film for many years now.
I don’t know, with all the hype and work already gone into it they should make a live action. An animated one would be a fine accompaniment but its not enough on its own.
My prerequisites for the film:
No Mel Gibson (maybe a small cameo, but definitely not a lead role)
Film everything in Aus/NZ with a cast from Aus/NZ
Avoid excessive CGI and overly futuristic/sci-fi plot.
Hire best stunt drivers in the world.
At least half of the running time should be high speed chases, filmed closely.
(yeah this all just sounds like a remake of the first, well… it works)
Use Godflesh on the soundtrack.

Features a gang comprising all the Aus based prongers.
Yeah, I’m thinking none of those will happen. At least if all the other 80’s “sequels” of late are any indicator. But I’d watch it.

Yeah, that is more like it. The link in the o.p. had a link within it that featured Miller checking out one of the vehicles they are going to be using. He also talked about casting and the problem of a talent drain in Australia. Hardy is a good addition in my book, can play the hard man without being an anti-semitic, masochistic god-freak.
Zoe Kravitz is the daughter of Lisa Bonet, remember her? Yum, is all I’ll say. Teresa Palmer is an Aussie hottie. Don’t know what they’re like as actors though.

Denise Cosby and Lenny Kravitz’s daughter? Dang, you know she’s gonna be smokin’ hot!!! Denise was the only reason I ever watched that show when I was a kid.
EDIT: I just checked some photos. She’s not as hot as I would’ve hoped. I think she’s got too much of her dad’s DNA and not enough of mom’s. I think maybe they chose her 'cause she looks kind of Aboriginal or something.
Oh well, put some leather spiked bra and a dog collar on her and give her a modified chainsaw on the end of a broomstick to fight with and we got ourselves a movie we can be proud of.

I do think it’s true that there is a Mad Max anime as well, i didn’t mean to suggest that was balls, but the 4th film will definitely be live action. It sounds like Miller’s really put a lot of time and effort into it, so i hope it turns out well. He was all set to go a few years ago, filming in Africa, but it fell through in the final stretch, possibly because a war broke out wherever it was they were making it. Might have been Namibia or somewhere like that.
Anyway, sounds like there could be a lot of automotive action, which is what i’ve always wanted fro Mad Max.
Well, finally, over 4 years after the original post, we have a trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, and it looks suitably fucking mental. Consider me thrilled.
