Live Concerts - Just Seen and Coming Up

I saw Stabbing Westward last month, they put on a great show.

Have three more concerts booked for this year: Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennit & Depeche Mode.

I thought Chris wasn’t touring since getting cancer…I guess he’s okay now. I do really like SW.

Cold Waves LA in a couple weeks. . .Front Line Assembly and Lead Into Gold. Can’t wait.

I heard that too, not sure what his situation is now, but he sounded excellent! Glad I got a chance to see them.

Other than Ticketmaster, where can I see other bands touring? I was using Facebook but I’m not on there anymore. Songkick seems okay but what else…

I’m not going to any more concerts. Mr. Bungle played a good show but I was in agonizing pain the whole time from cramping legs, and Rob Zombie was an utter shitshow (see another thread for what happened).

Nope. No more shows. Fuck it. NIN could play tomorrow and the most interest I’d show is a glance at the setlist.

I went to two in the last week and going to another next week…I’m 52 and usually in agonizing pain after each one but I’ll probably never stop going to shows…at least I could look forward to wheelchair access in the very near futurešŸ˜€

After this year, I might be done as well… Dealing with heavy traffic, parking, and large crowds can be really draining. For the larger shows, you have to give yourself an extra three hours to get trough traffic, park and work through the crowds go get to your seat. The shows themselves are always fun, I just don’t have the same energy that I had in my 20s.

So far this year I’ve seen The Cure, Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel & Stabbing Westward

Coming up: Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennitt and Depeche Mode.

I’ll venture out to see Dead Can Dance if they ever play nearby.

Right? I look back at the Lollapaloozas I went to and I’m like, ā€œHow the fuck did I do that?!ā€

I’ll probably never stop going to shows. But I don’t go to these big amphitheater shows, like you guys are posting about. It’s why I’ve only seen Depeche Mode once. And most of my bands still play smaller venues, so it’s not much of an issue of getting in/out.

I’m done with festivals, not done with shows. I’ll probably always go to shows too.

My problem with shows is just that they go too late and I’m an early to bed kind of guy these days. I still have good energy and can dance for hours, but honestly like to be asleep by 10pm and there aren’t many bands I like enough to stay up for (missing one night of sleep usually fucks my sleep schedule for a few days minimum and I’m too old to do shit that causes me to not feel my best).

Yeah, I hear you about the late shows. I agree. However, as I’ve gotten older, the bands have gotten older and every year they seem to play earlier and earlier. Metal shows, these days, have been starting at 6pm. Haha.

@grmpysmrf You decide whether you’re coming to Lead Into Gold in 2 weeks?

I’d love too, but we have family plans that weekend. So, good thing I didn’t get tix otherwise I’da been eaten 'em or given 'em away. I Might make Ministry and Filter that weekend with my kid, but that’s because it’s in the vicinity of where were going ot be and after what we’re doing. but a couple things need to fall in place before that’s a thing though.

Booo!

But they are coming back in December to open for the final Skinny Puppy shows. The last two I am going to are sold out, but they just put Dec 1 on sale, so you could try that.

I’ll look into that.
looks like they are in presale right now. They don’t go on regular sale until tomorrow

Looking forward to seeing Depeche Mode (again) later this Fall.

The cost of parking at a venue in LA is more than the price of a concert ticket to see DM 30 years ago.

Just want to say Lead Into Gold live blew away my expectations. One of the best sounding shows I’ve been to and the bass synth hits like a bomb. Hope Paul keeps working musically with Josh as they’re a great partnership.

Just got a notice they cancelled the Bowie thing…looks like you’ll get your refund after all…

Yep. Nobody’s reporting on it, but they’re sending refund notices to people who bought tickets.

We’re going to see Yard Act and PVA instead.
