I know there are at least a couple of Motorhead fans here…just read they are doing a film about Lemmys life…they haven’t got to casting yet and it got me to thinking of who could actually play Lem…any suggestions? …I didn’t come up with many good ones although the actor Steven Ogg might work…(I don’t know how to post pix here-haven’t really tried though)…Google him if you care enough…I will go see it no matter who plays him…I mean these biopic’s rarely work out and this one will probably be no different…I’ll say one thing though, whoever they do end up casting I wouldn’t suggest that they try method acting…
Steven ogg is cool but i dont see him as lemmy. For those that dont know steven ogg is or was (We stopped watching seasons ago) Negans right hand man from walking dead. He also had a few bit parts in better call saul. First as the gun nut that mike shakes down in the parking garage when he was about to go on a job with the nerdy guy selling drugs to nacho and then again this season When saul hires him to get dirt on kims bank boss. Cool acting parts ive seen him in but like i said i just dont see him as lemmy.
Then who do you see? I went through a shitload in my head and nobody seemed to work…if you could see the pic I saw of Ogg you might feel differently…he had a hat on and Lemmys beard configuration and he looked just like him…its a tough gig…curious to hear some names others would come up with…Gunnar,what you think mang?
I’ll watch it for sure, but very cautiously.
This one is very sacred ground for me, so I’ll just excuse myself from giving any fair and unbiased opinions.
As for actors . . . . shit, Sam Elliott is too old now, so… I don’t know. Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting)? I think only guys with mustaches are coming into my head, haha.
Yeah I am already nervous they are going to completely fuck this up…the last few biopics I saw, I really hated…granted the subjects weren’t exactly sacred to me but still…these things usually suck just by nature…I guess we will see…they better get those fucking moles right at least…

Ooh just found this and I’m totally on board with Billy Crudup!! He played Russell in almost famous.
Some of their suggestions are down right stupid. Jonny depp, Jared Leto, Christian Bale…" GTFOH! I do find it funny listed Ed Norton because he was one that jumped to mind when you first posted this but I don’t think so.I think Ogg before Norton. Russell Brand is definitely a possible but I think Billy Crudup is my main pic If I were casting.
I like most of the actors on that list, but almost all would be wrong.

He’s an intense dude and would kill this part. I worked with him on a show, he’s great.
He does dirty up real nice but I think his face is far too wide. but then again acting chops could make anyone over look that.
Yeah grmps that is the one I saw and it was the first one I had seen of him since seeing him on WD and Better Call Saul…I think you can understand why it made sense based on that pic…Dillahunt might be able to pull it off…I would def take Ogg and Dillahunt over any on that ridiculous list…not sure if I can see Crudup doing it…especially after already seeing him play a sort of hippyish rock star in Almost Famous…that would be in the back of my mind…I would still take all three of them over some of the absurd people on that list…Johnny Depp and Mickey Rourke!!! Give me an fucking break…

For sure. Those burns and the hat totally gives him a different flavor. I still don’t know though. BUT, I do know I would take Ogg on the strength of that picture than most of those Hollywood A listers that were listed in that article. Surprised they didn’t throw Tom Cruise in there. Sheesh.
Funny thing about Crudup, he looks better/normal as that guitarist in Almost Famous than he does all cleaned up. I’ve seen him in other things and he just doesn’t look right. Like his style doesn’t fit him. I remember seeing him on the Daily show a few years back and he just looked “fake,” I guess, for lack of a better word. Which is pretty funny because you figure the look he had for the character he was playing was obviously fake, but the person he is is natural but looked fake. weird shit, man.

What about Tim Roth? (Mr. Orange from Reservoir Dogs) Give him some mega side burns. He looks like he may have the physical appearance that could be easily molded into Lemmy. He’s already got the accent…You know he can bring the heat to his roles.
