KMFDM - APART tracklisting unveiled.

Did some lurking on the UHB earlier today and found this. Fucking STOKED. Aside from the lack of “Bargeld” and the understandable lack of half the stuff on Cheesy, this might’ve been the best KMFDM record ever.

[:)]

I’'m just wondering what the track Bomb And Breeze is.

Cheesy, such a good fucking record

THIS^

Kapt’n K’s avatar is pleasant.

please explain to me why people seem so amazed with this release in that thread. i saw a comment in that thread that imply this was a record that was never released or something?

Here’s a little history behind this. Sascha and En Esch were gonna do an album called Apart with Sascha doing one half of the album and Esch doing the other. Jim Nash rejected Esch’s half and gave Sascha more money to finish the album pretty much on his own. The end result became the album Money. A few of Esch’s trax wound up on his one and only solo release Cheesy. Those trax were Rock The Mob (which was renamed Rule The Mob), Sweet Venus, and Alles Ist Meins (which was renamed Ich Bin). The title Alles Ist Meins was later used for a Pigface song. To my knowledge Apart and Bomb & Breeze remain unreleased although they might’ve become Slick Idiot songs with different titles. Sascha also didn’t clarify which version of Sex On The Flag was supposed to be on Apart.

Sascha’s pointed put that all of those songs were used in some way probably. Not sure about the song Apart though. But I could only imagine all those songs sounding very different (blood and sex on the flag being prime examples). Shame none of this stuff never got released properly.

Thank You was released on Agogo though. And I’m willing to bet that the b-side versions of Blood and Sex on the Flag are probably the originals.

Blood from the A Drug Against War single is the one that was supposed to be on Apart. I wish Sascha would’ve stuck some of the songs on Agogo on those Extra albums, especially the remix of Hole In The Wall.

So, with all that said, I’d have to agree as to why anyone is that excited about this. I mean, it’s not like the Brap series by Skinny Puppy or something - they at least are totally unreleased, mostly.

It’s not like Apart is ever going to come out. This is mainly for die hard KMFDM fans. I was even quite intrigued myself bc I was wondering which of En Esch’s trax got rejected. Wikipedia already said which of Sascha’s trax didn’t make it on there and Wiki lied about some of EE’s trax. If anything this is for ppl to make a playlist on their iTunes, or a mix cd and see how it sounds in this order.

This.

Alles Ist Mine is likely an earlier version of the same song from Pigface’s Fook from the same year. Someone should try and get some backstory from Esch on this tracklist, like I don’t think “Bombs and Breeze” is anything from Cheesy. I think the exclusion of “Vogue” is pretty interesting. It’s one of the strongest (and by far the funkiest KMFDM song) tracks on MONEY and yes, it has Esch vocals, just listen to the choruses.

I have a feeling that everything from Apart was released, but reworked. But I’m willing to bet that the single versions of Blood and Sex are the Apart versions. With Esch’s material, he probably reworked the stuff to try making a “consistent”, although we all know that’s hardly the case. But Apart probably sounds nothing like the albums they ended up on.

The Money EP is literally the only thing I ever liked from KMFDM, with the exception of some of the tracks on 84-86.

I don’t know why - they have a fanbase, huge even, and as a fan of KISS you’d think I’d be more into them.

I wouldn’t expect a fan of Knights In Satan’s Service to be a fan of Kill Mother Fuckin Depeche Mode any day.

Hah…I’m going simply by some of the comments people have made in the past ten years that KMFDM have basically turned into KISS…retreading etc.
