Dunno how legal this is, but it’s GREAT. This has been like a holy grail for me for over a decade. (Looking at it now, holy hell, this is MY thread, isn’t it?!)

This confirms a few theories I had, namely that there was two versions of Apart at one point, one with the proto-Cheesy material, and another that was “cleaned up” but shelved. With the Industrial Accident compilation nonwithstanding, the only truly unreleased stuff here are the versions of Blood and Spiritual House, and they’re so FUNKY.

Killer.

I have the vogue and split/piggybank singles from back in the day.

This is Sascha’s own Bandcamp, so totally legit. He’s releasing other unheard nuggets including a Rieflin remix. In shitty times, it’s good to have something nice

BADASS. This week, and in reality, my life the last year, has been something else, by God. I’m glad I got to experience this in these tumultuous times!

BONUS: Look what I found!

Oh that’s a cool demo with En Esch vox!

Downloaded this today.

The only two good things to happen this rotten year are a new ladyfriend and the release of this sugar plum dream of an album. <3

It’s SO cool! Easily my favorite version of Split! It sounds more like a protest song than a slick dancefloor stomper/REALLY weird breakup song than any other mix.

i’m such a wimp. i’m not comfortable putting in $0 for payment! you gotta laugh at yourself sometimes fellas.

so what’s the deal, is this allies 1st mine the demo to the pigface, or after? has to be demo. but then again trent released suck after.

After listening to this a bit, my early take on it is that it’s a more fulfilling listen than Money, which gets too repetitive on side 2. However, I really love the song “Money” and think it’s one of their better tracks. You could have had that as a stand alone single like Sucks or Split and then the UAIOE/Naive/Apart era would be cemented as my favorite for the band.

ETA: started listening to Money in comparison and man that version of Vogue is so much worse than the APART version. I never really liked Vogue until hearing the original

WORD.

Blow by blow (or beat by beat?) synopsis:

Apart Vogue is FUNKY and crisp, while Money Vogue is HEAVY but the muddiest thing. I like them both but Apart’s version likely trumps it.

Best non-demo version of Split.

Help Us/Save Us/Take Us Away is the track on Money that all my friends would say was the most jarringly different but coolest. Stoked it was supposed to be there the whole time.

This version of Blood is phenomenal!

THANK YOU is a fuckin nightmare but I’m glad it exists.

Spiritual House is actually one of my favorite KMFDM jamz, tough to say which version I prefer. I like this one’s fidelity a bit more, I think!

Turns out the best version of Bargeld was the O.G.! NUTS!

I like the single version of Sex on the Flag a lot but it makes sense that the version off Money was actually the original. It’s way less a hot jam and more like a demo, honestly, but it’s still great!

I’m stoked that We Must Awaken was part of the original vision, cuz the cool dubby jamz were a key component of why I like old KMFDM a lot. You could argue that said weird dubby jamz were part of what made stuff like DBYT forgettable bu that record SLAPS.

I’m pretty stoked!

I paid $1.
I was buying a bunch of stuff from Bandcamp anyway, and their cut was going to charity, so I figured I’d chip in a bit.
