alright forget it…it came out horrible over youtube…
if anyone has any idea of how to fix that…lemme know.

in the early wax trax chicago days, i think al must’ve been cajoled by jim and dannie to watch divine in “female trouble” way too many times–the scene where “she” tosses mom into the christmas tree b/c she didn’t get the cha-cha heels? priceless.
christmas is somewhere in heavy rotation in the cuban’s head. (or heels)
I like it well enough, but the “merry christmas! it’s always christmas” bits didn’t need to be screamed. Chord progression reminds me of “Let Me Give the World to You” by the Smashing Pumpkins.
As a primer for an album he could have definitely done better, but it’s not nearly as awful as I was expecting it to be.
And I agree Al would be better off commissioning green death and carmangary to write his lyrics.
Or XtRaterrestrial [;)]
ah remind me to change my username, I hate it, always have.
Well, folks, it’s gone already. Someone’s pretty punctual over there at 13th planet. I figured it’d hang around until later in the day of the 21st.
As usually I got tied up doing real-world stuff and didn’t get around to checking it out until the wee hours of the 21st (about 1:40am EST). I played the song through once, started to play it again, and then closed the Ministry Myspace tab by accident. When I reloaded the page the song was gone from the music player.
Was anyone able to snag an extracted download of it?
I think the song had something like 2,6xx plays according to the player right before it vanished.
Anyway back to the song itself: I have to admit that I IMMEDIATELY thought of AFOS SALS (which I admit is a rather decent song as far as AFOS material is concerned). Like many others have stated, I also thought it sounded like a mix of DSOTS-era sadness combined with Twitch-era vocal stylings and Bush Trilogy screaming. I’m cautiously optimistic about the rest of the release but I have to admit I’m not seeing any Fad Gadget influence here either, unlike what Al promised. It could also use a bit more bass. I’m curious what Wempathy has to say about it (assuming he got a chance to hear it).
The song was bollocks. Utter bollocks.
How bad does a song have to be around here before folks will admit it’s BAD??
Next y’all will be singing the praises of the new Revco or KMFDM.
Hang on…
No seriously, I hear NO DSOTS of Filth in the Christmas song. I really was being a moron thinking that “seeing red” was the christmas song. (I hear DSOTS or Filth in “seeing red” though)
About 1/3 of the way down there is a youtube link that says “tribute to paul raven.” I didn’t even see the little stereo thingy at the top that had the actual christmas song…
I’m really digging “seeing red” though I may pick up the S/T that Peligro said this track was on.

The actual Christmas Song (The one that was on the stereo thingy) sounds like “It’s Friday I’m In Love” by the cure (That’s The Cure right? which leads me to another question if that crap is the cure, what was the disease? probably something really stupid)

Grmp I for one am glad you picked the wrong song first as the lyrics to ‘Seeing Red’ are actually very apt for Al esp. the line “Oh to be an Englishman” (see fake accent thread)
Yeah I got a recording of the song if anyone wants it also. It’s not that great of quality…but it’s the song. Honestly I’m starting to not like it now…lyric wise…it’s fucking horrible…
screaming kinda ruins it honestly…if he wasn’t screaming I’d probably think the song was great. But it’s just decent.
Agreed.
If Al wants to let the old violent Ministry sound go, he needs to really let it go. Y’know?
How bad does a song have to be around here before folks will admit it’s BAD??
It’s not a black and white world, man. If white is (let’s say) Stigmata or Scarecrow, and black is (let’s say) Jack In The Crack or The Dick Song, then It’s Always Christmas Time is clearly gray.

No, it is black and white. Weren’t you at the meeting where we decided which songs were good and which were bad?
The song was bollocks. Utter bollocks.

Would you mind posting a list of all things you hate about the new Revco and KMFDM albums?
Chord progression reminds me of “Let Me Give the World to You” by the Smashing Pumpkins.
Don’t you fucking dare! Nothing similar. Nothing at all. An amazing song compared to an average song is far from sacred, and easily profane.
I thought it was alright though. Nice change of pace. The screaming just doesn’t belong, and if he’s talking about doing “fucking pop like The The and Fad Gadget”. You should perhaps ditch the screaming already. It did pique my curiousity for any of the future material he brings, but hopefully there’s less screaming and more actual singing.
Can someone hook me up…missed it.
ty
apparently i missed it too
If either of you want it, I made a recording…send me a message over AIM: Eyesonfire45
or email me at Eyesonfire45@yahoo.com
you guys didn’t really “miss” anything. Seriously, just go put on “It’s Friday I’m In Love.”

So how’s this song a tribute to raven? or are the sales going to be donated or something? you’s think if you had a dead friend you were honoring you’d tribute him with a more serious song
