Iron Maiden & The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal DVD (2008, Sexy Intellectual Productions)
(Region 0, NTSC, Total Running Time = 157 minutes) "Bottom Line:
If you’re a fan of the NWOBHM, then you should run right out and buy this! If you’re a Metal fan and enjoy learning about the history of Metal, then this is an absolute must! What really makes this DVD is the genuine love of the NWOBHM music that everyone involved with it has. These band members and journalists were right in the thick of the movement when things were new and ideas were fresh and their enthusiasm in talking about it all makes it genuine. For me, this DVD was a great companion piece to The NWOBHM Encyclopedia (by Malc MacMillan) reference book. I’ve had that book since it was published in 2001 and it has been an invaluable resource in my quest for picking up NWOBHM albums, I recommend finding that too!"

Damn! Sorry I missed this thread.
I don’t know if that box set still exists, but that’s totally badass. And I’ll keep my eyes open for that DVD documentary too.
I think the CD’s are loosely broken down into some categorizations. You’ll notice all the British New Wave metal bands are pretty much on the same disc. The collection, apparently, is just called HEAVY METAL. Not all British.
the first two records ARE underrated, and very good… but… no.
you are just wrong.
in fact, i think you may need some sort of mental health assistance.
Dickinson is just… better. this isnt even an opinion, it is a solid fact. like how bridges work, or how The Lost Boys is a perfect movie.

It is TOTALLY a fact.
People who aren’t into Iron Maiden or metal tend to think they’ll get some sort of street cred for flying the Di’anno flag. Nope. Sorry. It doesn’t work that way.
Y’all might as well start a Blayze Bayley (sp?) fan page!

Yeah, first two are amazing albums, but Dicko’s the greatest singer ever. Di’anno was good, was lucky to be the singer on those albums, and had his time, but it seems like he just didn’t want to tour and was replaced. This is how he’s best known in the UK now;

I saw them in the 90s in a local leisure centre with Blaze. They still gave 200% and he was great, i went in skeptical and came out a Blaze fan. They were great! Obviously i didn’t give him the time of fucking day after that, but for that show i enjoyed him.

Oh, I know. And you gotta at least give him props for filling a gap between 93-2001 or whatever that span was.
There’s actually a number of really cool tracks from those Blaze-era albums . . . . but they properly come to life when BRUCE sings them (“Sign of the Cross” and “Lord of the Flies” are totally BADASS!!!)
When was the last time you washed your jacket
[:P][/reply]
I washed it less than two years ago after it got sprayed at a GWAR concert. I really only wear it a couple times a year. It’s not dirty at the moment, but it is incredibly old and decrepit. It is faded and stained and held together with ramshackle bits of thread and patches and such.
