Inglorious Basterds

This film looks like it’s going to be absolutely atrocious. Thoughts?

Yeah a giant poop is on the cards.

But you never know I suppose.

100% agreed. Also, Eli Roth is terrible.

Brad Pitt looks and sounds like a gobshite in it. Not unusual. Tarantino is also the most overrated director in the history of film (even more than Spielberg) I don’t know whether this one will be as bad as ‘Death Proof’ or ‘Kill Bill’ but I’m not bothered to find out.

I’m more interested in ‘The Hurt Locker’. Has anyone seen that yet? I think its been released in the U.S. already. Then there is Nicholas Cage as The Bad Lieutenant. At least in this one he won’t be seeing into the future…

I just wanna know why they misspell bastards.

Because Tarentino’s cult/trash cinema obsession and the fact that this new film will clearly fall into that domain was not obvious enough.

Personally I think it should have been Inglorious Basturds

Yuck yuck yuck…

I’m might watch it, I’m not excited about it or anything, but it looks better than GI Joe.

Kill Bill was great… Haven’t seen death proof yet, I fell asleep about 3 times trying to get through the “Grindhouse Experience” so I’ve only seen about 1/3rd of Planet Terror lol.
I still want to see a feature length Werewolf Women of The SS [laugh]

I dunno, I think it will be good… the preview makes it look a bit crap - but I have faith, I like the majority of other Tarintino stuff. I don’t think it’s going to win best picture or anything but will be a bit of fun.

And GI Joe… ahh… I wanna see it - that is almost guaranteed to be awful, but I used to love those flamboyant plastic soldiers, despite their constantly snapping off of thumbs cocks and legs lol.

I’m actually a Brad Pitt fan (i’m not gay). I don’t know if that’s a minorty opinion but I think he’s a great actor and I’ve liked the movies he’s chosen and the characters he’s done in the past. I mean 12 monkeys, meet joe black, fight club, snatch, etc. are all 5 stars in my book

It’s harder to advertise something with “Bastard” in its name than a misspelling of the word.

can’t wait for this one. Jackie Brown was his most underated film I’d say. doesn’t get enough attention.

i’d have to dissagree and say 4 rooms, even though he didn’t do the whole thing, was his most under-rated movie

I actually liked the first Kill Bill. The second one and Death Proof sucked. Other than those two, i’ve always found his movies interesting enough to watch from time to time. He is overrated, but as long as I find you entertaining, then I could care less.

Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
end list
and that order often changes depending on which one I haven’t watched in a while!
Didn’t care for Jackie Brown. I found it way to long/slow of a story, that was really quite dull to begin with.

I enjoyed the two Kill Bill movies quite a bit. Haven’t seen them since the theater. Also quite dug Death Proof, saw that in the theater too and the climactic chase was awesome pure film-making. What led up to that point was cheesy but the chase saved it all. I’ll probably see Inglorious Basterds too. Why not?

I thought this was his best movie, but not my favorite. I thought the characters in this were scary real.

All Death Proof was is shitty, boring dialogue. The chase saved nothing for me.

Any movie that has Robert DeNiro smoking bongs is alright by me

Jackie Brown has always been the most satisfying of Tarantino’s films to me. I still have not gotten around to seeing all of Kill Bill 1&2 something about it rubs me the wrong way. He has had a WWII film in the planning stages since before Jackie Brown, so maybe a bit more care has been put in it than the Grindhouse stuff.

Saw it tonight. There are some brilliant and beautiful scenes and the main villain Nazi is a great character but honestly the violence was a bit much for me. I think I’m getting too old for this sort of thing.
