Industrial Accident - the Story of WaxTrax!

Soon to debut for test screening on April 1 - I will be there. Anyone else going? Lots of WT crew, Biafra, Barker, etc.

Let me know, would like to see some of you fuckers!

( does anyone besides myself, Afra & deadguy live in Chicago anyway?)

Very cool. Panel discussions look great. Uncle Al needs to make a guest appearance. No hard feelings…

I would love to go but I’m in NY.

Would love to go, but don’t think I can pull enough resources together.

JLW, make sure to have a blast and fill us in afterwards! [:)]

I live in Chicago but am not interested in this at all.

Why not “at all”? On a side note, did you notice that Paul Barker is only mentioned as being a part of Lard and Revolting Cocks? He isn’t mentioned as being associated with Ministry. But, I guess as far as Wax Trax releases goes, he never was, but I don’t think that is why it was omitted. I know Al is in the video but I wonder if he will show up in Chicago. I bet not.[/reply]

What exactly am I getting for $20? A test screening for a documentary that I wouldn’t even download for free? A poster? I’m not 12 years old. Also, no offense to the first panel, but I’ve never been a fan of TKK. Jello could be interesting but I’ve never really liked his vocals in Lard.

More importantly I’m not wasting a Saturday on this, especially when there are literally thousands of other things I could be doing in Chicago on a potentially nice Spring day.

$125 for Super VIPs? [laugh]

Ministry isn’t mentioned at all. Why is there bad blood?

Come on, Deadguy! You gotta represent truth and justice and go ask some questions of the panel since I can’t be there.

“Mr. Connelly, remember when you acted like a big fucking baby and ran off the Prongs board because you thought people were ‘bullies’ for not kissing your ass? That was awesome.”

“Mr. Barker, Sir, is that crazy-as-batshit psychotic rambling goblin that goes by the name Gerda really your wife? And how’s her book coming along? Also, do you like going on Amazon and watching the numbers change from ‘0 sold’ to ‘2 sold’ every time Grumpysmurf finds out about one of your new albums?”

Ha Ha Ha! ass! [laugh]

Deadguy has far more important and refined things to do, like going to brunch, beating his maids for not polishing the silver correctly, monitoring his stock options, and killing his co-workers with an ax for having better business cards.

None of the Lard releases were on Wax Trax, either.

Was Biafra directly involved with any music released on Wax Trax then? There’s an obvious connection with Nash and Flesher but I guess they wanted to credit him with something.

He was on the 1000 Homo DJs record.

I’m sorry but I just love that this was posted in this thread instead of the Chuck Berry one.

OR WAS IT? DUN DUN DUNNNNN

re: Biafra involvement…

It’s scant but like someone stated, he was on the 1000 Homo DJs EP.
It could come down to two reasons, one is that he’s available and has his well known own indie label (this doc is focused on rise and fall of one of THE bigger known industrial/techno labels), runs in the same circles (Al and Paul)…etc

or it’s money. He’s playing DJ at Liars Club the night prior. Dude’s gotta eat and while I wish he were doing his DJ set at Berlin with Front242 that same night (yes, two diff sets at two diff venues on the same night) or even David J at Smart Bar same night…can’t have em all.

Jello was good friends with the Wax Trax crew during the early days.

There’s a good interview with him in Al’s book. He talks about Jim and Danny playing him the unreleased I’m Falling/Overkill 7" for him, then later hearing Halloween and being impressed by it.

I don’t think Jello’s work ties directly into the label (apart from the 1HDJs EP) but it sounds like he has some close ties.

I wonder if the new documentary will feature any insight into the infamous prank calls from [url https://youtu.be/T8zJ25Y_MA4?t=567]Longmont Potion Castle to the WaxTrax! store.

Yeah, Jello knew Jim and Dannie back in the Colorado days, right? Think Al talked about that in his book.

This is what I was going to say.
And I THINK I recall some earlier promo video clip of Jello talking about this.
