Being a fanatic of the early years, this is a dream come true. This song and “Do You Even Like It” had the worst sound quality out of all the unreleased songs in circulation. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for “Do You Even Like It”. (and the dozens of other early songs, of course)
I presume that when Al signed with Sire / WB in 1985, he would have submitted some demos to the label for consideration. My guess is that would have included some of the tracks - like “I’ll Do Anything for You” and “Do You Even Like It?” - they were playing during the 1984 live shows.
Does anyone know why “All Day” shows up on Twitch and “Everyday Is Halloween” does not?
The more I listen to this track, the more I like it. This is by far the best thing Al has released in years.
On the other hand, can Al please cut Sammy loose? The guy is the worst remixxxer I have ever heard. He is in love with the Stttuuuutttteerrrreeeedd Sample and choppy production. I find his mixes/production intolerable.

Neither was supposed to be on the album originally. My guess is Sire wanted to include a previous single to help sell the album. Halloween was a best seller for Wax Trax!, so they probably didn’t want to let that one go. Sounds like they allowed All Day to be used, but only if they remixed it.

yeah, Twitched notes state that as well, and didn’t Al also said that he included All Day on Twitch as a compromise with the record company/whatever?
then again, Twitched is only a bootleg; and Al said alot of things, like Warner (/Sire) offering them complete creative freedom; buut then why after whole Arista thing he didnt go back to WaxTrax but put Ministry to Warner/Sire?
Still waiting for “Karij Irionk” to post the rest of the Ministry gig at The Channel in Boston from October 1984 on YouTube. The video and audio quality on “Work For Love” were stunning for 30 years later. I would think there would be similar footage and audio of “I’ll Do Anything For You”, “All Day”, and others.

I think Ministry would have been just as successful if they had stayed with Wax Trax, but who knows? It sounds like Sire picked them up after Arista dropped them. They probably offered more money and more creative freedom.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. That is stellar quality and I can’t believe he hasn’t posted the rest. I think I messaged him a while back. I’ll ask him again about posting the rest. Everyone else should too. The more people asking might make it happen faster.
I think I’ve mentioned this before, and maybe bisquitodoom can respond to this again, but I seem to recall reading that there was an initial plan to record an album actually titled “Everyday Is Halloween” for Wax Trax, which would have compiled the WT singles, plus Move, He’s Angry, etc, and that was scrapped with the WB signing. I have the text doc somewhere (bisquit, any truth to that?). I’ve also read that “All Day” was a compromise for Twitch, but the remix works well on that album. Halloween would be sonically out-of-place on Twitch, unless he would have let Sherwood remix it.
Al doesn’t hate Twitch, but would certainly like it more if he had been the original creator of a lot of the loops and percussion sounds used. It seems to be fairly well known that Sherwood and LeBlanc constructed a lot of those percussion tracks, and then traded them/sold them…whatever to Al. I think he’d be more emotionally invested in that album if he had actually created everything on it.
I didn’t hear LeBlanc’s “Major Malfunction” LP right away - it was several years after Twitch when I did - so I was surprised to hear some of the very same soundbytes and percussion riffs used on Twitch. I did hear the original version of “Move” on Tackhead Sound System back in the day, but of course never heard Ministry’s version until Early Trax. It’s an intriguing part of Ministry’s history to me, because it still seems to be the least documented era.
There used to be two backstage video interviews on YouTube with Al circa '86/87 that were eventually pulled, and I’m kicking myself for not downloading those at the time. I have not seen them surface anywhere else.
That Wax Trax album would have been interesting. It sounds like it would have been much of the same content as Early Trax. I do know that the first Ministry release was supposed to be a 7" single containing the original “I’m Falling” and “Overkill”.
I remember listening to Major Malfunction and Tackhead Sound System a while back. I’ve been meaning to pick those two up.
I’m with you on that 86 interview. I’m kicking myself as well for not downloading it. I remember Al discussing the early side projects and the 12" for The Angel.
I haven’t heard of a Wax Trax album with an official name before. I don’t know whether that was ever in the works. I do know he planned several other releases for Wax Trax that were scrapped with the move (I See Red being the notable song lost in the mix).
