I Wanna Start A Polygamist Sect

[reply]i think carmangary and senor smurf get it. the rest are pathetically lacking in the history of violence against women. ask yer momma or her sister or your sister or girlfriend. and do call me in the morning. dumbass.you don’t want to hear what is prevalent in our society.i am fortunate to have a partner who respects women. not too many of those guys around in the music industry,

i never said anything that any one could even take as misogynistic… i am actually a VERY active activist for trans/woman/genderqueer/androgynous rights and respect. i also believe that rape as a term is a mark of violence, and is a horrible violent crime, there is no question there. i dont think it should be ignored in the least, and im not saying that it needs to be a hang-able offense.

my issue with your original post is that i think it is a little stomach churning that you can condemn someone and want them dead/locked away forever instead of rehabilitated, or even defended.

like i said before, rape is disgusting in all of its forms, so is murder, so are a lot of sad acts that are perpetrated by a lot of the people i work with… but im not there to judge, i am there to help int he act of education and rehabilitation.

i understand your anger, very well, but still, i think there needs to be more rational than revenge in the american prison system.[/reply]

Gerda, you should probably read rusty’s posts a couple of times to yourself. It might sink in eventually.

Senator David Norris was a candidate for the upcoming Presidential* election in Ireland but had to withdraw from the race primarily over a scandal involving him writing a letter seeking clemency to the Israeli gov. for his former lover, who was convited of statutory rape in the early 90s. Norris is the first and only openly gay politican in the country. He’s also one of the (if not the only) most intelligent and articulate polticians in Ireland.

There was most certainly a covert campaign against him because of his homosexuality, bigots were looking everywhere for dirt and they eventually found it. They brought up an old interview he gave some years ago about sexuality in Ancient Greece and distorted his words to make it look like he advocated pederasty. Then this letter surfaced a few weeks ago; in it he sought clemency for his former partner, an Israeli activist, who was charged with statutory rape of a 15 year old Palestinian boy. The guy admitted to the crime and served his punishment. There’s suggestion that the Israeli gov. leaked this letter to tarnish Norris’s campaign. Why? Because he’s a lefty and he’s gay. There’s no doubt the letter was a bad judgement call on the part of Norris, he let his emotions get the better of him. But his bid for the Presidency is now gone, which is a real shame.

  • the Presidency in Ireland is largely a ceremonial office but has the capacity to achieve much more.

Kids: Why do they come in such small sizes if we weren’t supposed to lock them in boxes?
