I thought I’d introduce myself.

I’ve been lurking on here for ages. FINALLY GOT THE COURAGE TO TALK TO YOU GUYS. Indeed.[laugh]

Anyway, I’m 20, live in Melbourne, Australia and used to like Ministry.

I make music. It sucks. www.myspace.com/fiveminutestomidnite . Add me and we can share music and become best friends, start a band, then end up hating each other.

I did learn from this approach to ‘friendships’ from the Jourgensen School of Rock. If I end up hating you enough, yer gonna get sued for tortious interference as well. Even though I don’t know what the fuck that was. And only decided to sue you for that after someone brought it up in a conversation.

ANYWAY

yeah, i was at piss army. then i got sick of it. it was just one ‘everything al does is a-ok!’ thread after another. and the censoring of threads and the way in which his wife would attempt to justify said censorship. pretty hypocritical, given al’s political views

and there was very little going for it in terms of topical discussion. i mean, if people were talking about music, they’d just refer to shoddy post-industrial bands they listened to. everyone here seems to have a far better taste in music and be a lot less idiotic and a little more life informed than certain people on that ‘piss army’.

i mean, i recall some dude over there getting his account shut down or something and coming on here saying ‘his life is ruined’. [laugh] extra laughs if he’s over the age of 15.

Sick Steve. Poor guy is a mess. Ex druggie, handicapped sort, that lives off the state. Well, assuming what he writes about himself is legit.
Oh well, better people over here. They’re overly critical MOST of the time, and “Music snobs” would certainly be an understatement, but at least we’re honest and we’re a pretty funny group! we’ll certainly toughen your skin. Hope you stay around a while.

Actually, this is hands down the friendliest board I frequent (not that I frequent many boards mind you). I sometimes post over on the forever doomed forum but I’ll probably stop going soon enough. They are SO fucken clique-y and snobby over there. Hardly ever comment on yr posts or join in a discussion that you’ve started because you are not ‘one of them’. I’m pretty much sick and tired of being totally ignored when it comes to joining in on a topic over there.

Doom metal record collector geek types! Sheesh! They’re a weird mod.

I also tried the Skinny Puppy litany forum a few years back- but to say those guys over there are anal is doing an injustice to the term ‘anal’.

No way! that’s everybody! we all have 2 cents to speak and most of the time when it’s not exactly nice at least it’s honest in our own eyes! or so it would seem. for example it was either you or olsen that gave me shit for me having aerosmith cds, but were perfectly cool with Paula abdul in my collection. You weren’t being a dick just to be a dick. You posted an honest opinion about Aerosmith and left blatantly pop cds alone…That’s cool with me. now i guess I’m done with this big suck-a-cock-a-thon [cool]

The worst forum I’ve checked more than once is the Boards of Canada forum (can’t remember if it was the official or unofficial one). It is the most frustrating and obnoxious forum in existence. Because the band themselves have said fuck all for about 3 years. all the people on the forum keep peddling rumours and then moan endlessly about it. Really terrible forum.

I take it you’re a fan of Mr. Bungle, I can definitely hear it in your work. Do you play all your stuff or is it a band?

Welcome aboard [:)] We’re all generally a good natured bunch here unlike some other boards where dissenting opinions are frowned upon.

As you can probably tell, a wide variety of music is discussed here not just Ministry and side projects, which to me is one of the things that I love about prongs. Its fun to see how different everyone’s tastes are.

I kid, indeed the musical tastes on this forum are as eclectic and open minded as all hell, and better yet, not exactly mainstream.

And the debate on the forum is healthy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s highly prevalent, but it tends not to resort to childish and pathetic namecalling as I’ve seen on some forums.

Fuck this makes me laugh. Sounds like a real winner. Deadset, yer mentioning of the name ‘sicksteve’ reminded me, for some reason, of the time I posted some question about ministry back in the day and got called a ‘homo teenager’ by said ex-junkie. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t give two shits, but it just stuck in my memory for some reason and his name reminded me of it. Shit yeah, that is funny.

SHIT YEAH, Mick. I love Bungle. But they didn’t really influence me as much as the people I listed on my gayspace. Basically, I got Bungle’s first CD when I was 12. Don’t get me wrong, great CD, but I only bought it by sheer merit of the fact they had a song called ‘my ass is on fire on it’ and it just became one of those joke CD’s I’d put on for a laugh… then a friend of mine showed me California and D.V when I was in my final year of high school and…

my head exploded.

It’s weird having Bar Mckinnon live in the same city as me. His new band is okayish. Great recorded, but live, pretty boring. Just ‘let’s do a million time signatures’. Not much energy. But it does sound great at the very least. I suppose that’s what matters.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to answer yer other question, I play all the instruments. Tried playing in bands with ‘people’. Found bands to be a waste of time, money and emotion. I recorded those songs when I was 17-18, so… I like to think I’ve gotten a little better since then… [:/]

Yeah I was banned there for saying the bands who opened on the last tour (specifically Sightings) were doing something more interesting than Puppy was. They will not tolerate criticism of SP.
