Or bands that just haven’t stood the test of time. Peligro said Danzig. Gunnar said Skinny Puppy. What are some of the rest of yours?
First names that came to mind are Tool and A Perfect Circle. I’d actually call them middle school bands. The last time I listened to APC’s Mer de Noms it just didn’t have the same impact it did when I was younger. Kinda sad cuz that album really got me through 8th grade. I’d maybe go see them if I had the chance, but I’m over the Maynard phase of my life. A big one is Cradle Of Filth. They only really lasted until sophomore year when I got into black metal. I’m pretty embarrassed to say I liked them to the degree I did. I listened to them til I got sick of them. I hate to say it but Black Sabbath is slowly falling into this category. I know I posted an old concert of theirs a few days ago, but I began to remember the last time I listened to Sabotage and, like APC, it didn’t have the same impact, and that’s my favorite album by them. Also seeing them at Ozzfest in '05 is the most disappointing show I’ve ever been to. I’ll just go ahead and list the rest, but those are the ones I had to get into detail with. Others include:
Pantera
Dark Funeral
Satyricon
Slayer (though I still like Show No Mercy)
Mushroomhead
Fear Factory
Burzum
Kittie
I just wore these bands out from high school.
Aerosmith (permenent vacation) (pump) although I still really like rag doll and angel but as albums I’m over them.
Tesla- five man acoustical jam. Another album I just wore out. I still like a couple songs off of it but as an album I can’t do it. Love song, modern cowboy, paradise, getten beter, I still like and can listen to but as an album I couldn’t make it through it. Just played it to death.
Queesryche empire. I still like and can listen to the title track empire and jet city woman, and kinda silent lucidity but again I wouldn’t be able to listen through the whole album. I just wore that album down to nothing.
That’s actually not completely true, these albums I’ve listed have a ton of shit locked away in them. If I were to put these on it would instantly take me back to whatever was going on or how I felt at the time. For example Tesla is all my freshmen year queensryche is the summer before going to be a sophomore aerosmith is all 8th grade year and they all conjure up feelings and thought of things I haven’t thought and felt in 25 years
These albums are like auditory diaries.
Those are probably the big 3 everything else I still listen to and like. The magic is still all there.
Late,

I’ll probably think of more.
Maybe you are just realizing that the majority of the bands you listed here sucked balls to begin with…
Rush’s fanbase consists mainly of blank faced, 35 year old unmarried, computer systems software analysts - who wear glasses, have pony tails, wear turteneck sweaters, collect model airplanes and have names like Nigel or Gordon.
They also enjoy listening to Dream Theater and early period Genesis on their iPods while reading Star Trek magazines on the train to work.

The entire mid 90’s Britpop fiasco
Any band containing a celebrity musician such as Johnny Depp or Keanu Reeves.
Ramstein
Marilyn Manson
nu-Ministry
Cradle Of Filth
Any band who is suddenly “famous” for approximately six weeks and then is never heard from again

Unless you actually listened to and enjoyed all of the above IN HIGH SCHOOL you kind of missed the point of the thread. We already have had “Overrated” and “Sucks” threads. This thread is bands you’ve “grown out of” basically.
