This one’s looking like the worst yet for the USA.

but seriously, are gun proponents going to argue all the kids in school should have had guns to defend themselves? you want to install armed guards in schools? this is getting ridiculous. it’s about fucking time you american seriously question your gun laws.

Link?
Nevermind it’s all over the news. :frowning:

A 20 year old shot up kindergarteners!!! I guess he had had enough of their bullying. <— (yes that is snark)

wow! sad day.

this is getting ridiculous.

getting??!!?!?!?!
When is it past ridiculous?

Many of us already do. but we are not allowed to say anything or if we do here comes the NRA brandishing their weapons telling us to shut the fuck up.

Those nimrods still think all of their guns are going to help them overthrow the government one day… what they fail to realize is that the playing field is no longer level. all of their high powered assault rifles put together are no match for a tank or an unmanned drone or even a fucking bomb!

These people are fooling themselves living in 1700’s mentality thinking that if the government ever wanted to get extreme totalitarian they would put boots on the ground. shit ain’t fought like that anymore.

I honestly think ironic justice would be some nut with a fully automatic weapon showing up at one of their rallies and just mowing them all down.

“but but but but they all had guns?!?!?! why weren’t they all safe?!?!?!?!?”

I’m just picking up snippets from news but this one looks so saddening and cruel. 18 kids.

There can be no excuses or pussyfooting around this now. The 2nd amendment’s time is up.

And yeah, don’t brush all Americans with the one stroke. Vast majority of Americans I know are not gun freaks and some are very anti-gun.

Poor kids.

NRA: no comment

So annoying when people lump all Americans(or people from any country) together…so boring and simple…

sorry if anyone got offended. the majority of you are against more gun laws, right? i remember reading a year back that support for banning guns was at an all time low http://www.gallup.com/poll/150341/record-low-favor-handgun-ban.aspx obviously there are going to be people on both sides of the fence, but i think it’s safe to say that americans love their guns :P. so yes, you americans do need to get into a serious debate about gun laws!

The problem with the discussion of gun-control is that it is difficult to find rational intelligent people in the debate (we’re usually found somewhere in the middle). You either get the liberals that just want to ban all the guns or you get the ultra-rightwing guntards that say really stupid things like “It should be mandatory for teachers to carry guns”.

I’m a law abiding citizen and if I want to buy a gun I believe I have the right to do so . . . . but I’ve got no problem with them taking 5 days to first make sure I’m not an escaped fugitive or a psychotic idiot. And just because I believe that we all have the constitutional “right to bear arms” doesn’t mean I think the Average Joe should be able to buy bazookas and grenade launchers willy nilly.

I think this is beyond gun control. Criminals will still kill with or without guns.

And in this case I think I heard the gunman had a mental illness. Also this flare up of mass shootings probably has a a bit to do with our culture. Fucking violence everywhere from all sides, news, video games, movies couple all that with environmental factors of the perpitrator and this is what happens.

Prayers go out for the children and the parents…

i think this whole idea that “guns don’t kill people, people do” is beyond idiotic. guns are made for one reason, to hurt/kill/maim someone. sure you could kill people anyway you want, but nothing does as much damage and as quickly as a gun. the fact that you americans (and yes, i’m using “you americans”. i can’t think of any other western country that has this kind of mentality) keep sticking to this mentality after so much evidence to the contrary is mind boggling.

i find it hilarious when people claim to be upset, but yet aren’t willing to tackle the problem.

I’m all for stricter gun laws. Military style weaponry, assualt rifles etc. shouldn’t be on the streets. But at the same time you got to look deeper into why people choose to commit such crimes, and at the root of it is a cultural thing. If you dont, this will never truly stop.

Probably a health aspect to all these shootings too. Willing to bet lots of these mass shooters suffer from some sort of mental illness. Undiagnosed too.

there was also 22 children stabbed in a Chinese primary school today, no deaths thankfully. what a sad day though.

I can’t even gather my thoughts on what I think should or shouldn’t be done. but clearly, SOMETHING needs to change…

I would love to ban guns. Especially handguns, as they are easily concealed and designed specifically for shooting and killing PEOPLE @ close range.

However, one of my coworkers posed an interesting point.
Has the war on drugs worked? (I would say no) So if we ban guns in the USA, it’s highly likely that we would face the same issue. There is an abundant supply of weapons in the world. And if there is a demand for them, it is inevitable that they will be readily available for those who want to pay for them.

F@#K!

Truly a sad day for the parents of those kids, my heart goes out to them, but I agree with the right to bear arms, and being a gun owner myself, I dont have a problem waiting for an extended amount of time to make sure Im not missing any screws upstairs - something has to give.

We shouldn’t have to ban all guns in the US. But we should at least…

A. Ban assault weapons
B. Register guns as we do automobiles (must be titled)
C. Require strict background checks for permits/purchasing.

The biggest problem is…the dam broke a long time ago and there’s over 300,000,000 guns already. It’s madness.

One day, I’d like to see an army of kindergarten kids with shotguns take out everyone at an NRA convention. Then again, after 9/11, I was advocating hiring a suicidal pilot to crash a plane into the mosque at Mecca. Maybe I’m being a little knee-jerk reactionary, I dunno.

Agreed and I am a pro gun guy.

What the fuck?!?! Just heard the news. This shit just goes on and on and on over there in the land of the daft and arrogant.

Nothing will be done, Obama is all hot air and no substance.

Oh well, til next time I guess…

Just out of curiosity…anyone here own a gun?
