I’m a little more optimistic than this. People said the same thing with clinton and all the debt that daddy bush I and ronnie reagan ran up and sacked clinton with. Not only did clinton come in under budget but his fiscal planning (had w followed it) would have had the us completely debt free in something like 6 years.

My bad. I probably shouldn’t have added the “can never” part. I’ve run the numbers. It is theoretically possible . . . . but we’ll never have leadership to enable this and the brass ones to do the needful cuts and sacrifices in the interim.
