Got Cock

The stores around here get most 13th Planet releases weeks after the official release.

Maybe one of the indie stores downtown has it, but I doubt I’ll be heading that way this weekend.

I hear ya on that one.

I found it at a place called Streetside Records in KC, which is part of the FYE chain.
I was shocked to find it.
The liner notes even have the lyrics, which is a first for a cocks album.

I’d rather have the lyrics to the classic Cocks records. Subject matter isn’t this lineup’s strong suit.

If Chris wants to publish a book of his lyrics, I’d buy it. He’s quite good.

Found it at hastings for fourteen bucks. Three copies, even.

I passed on it in favor of a grip of used stuff, though.

Later, dammit. Later.

Some of it seems to be growing on me. Some songs are no good, but some are so-so, and a few are decent. Did Al even contribute anything to this one, or is he just claiming credit like the last one?

Well officially, Al is credited with programming, background vocals, and keyboards. Also Clay has no songwriting credits this time, all of them are “Jourgensen/Bradford/Quirin.” There are some background vocals that do sound like Al, but with all the effects on top, who really knows? It’s not like there’s any non-biased source we could ever ask about this.

And the obligatory 13th Planet printing error: In “Air Traffic Control,” “lavatory” is printed as “laboratory.” Dumbasses!

Hmmm… Sounds different so I figured Clayton contributed this time. Maybe it’s Al… I’ve been under the impression since 04, that he barely contributes musically, but maybe i’m wrong.

got it at an indi-store in vegas for 12 bucks… Don’t care for it. Although, if they remix it, I can see myself probably liking that. I like the sexxo mixxo better than sexxo olympico (although I do like Sexxo OLympico…) the first track on G.C.is horrible i skipped past after about a minute. The “2 live crew” covers were unnecessary and horrendous!

You’re nuRevco’s no.1 fan, Grmpy.

So…you didn’t like it, eh?

Was it worse than Stayte?

One listen and done. They’re not even trying on this album. Forgettable and embarrasing, with some of the worst cover art ever. I can’t fathom wasting any time working on these songs in a recording studio. They must be REALLY bored these days.

Well, I pre-ordered the album over a month ago, and still waiting… Anyone notice that the MySpace and official site now have little to no mention of the three new guys? The pictures on the MySpace just have Al in them.

If anyone doesn’t want theirs I’ll take it [:)]

Because i’m guessing Al’s the only remaining member now…

I just grabbed a 128 kbps copy from Demonoid. It wasn’t on my hard drive very long.

Unsurprising. They weren’t intended to be permanent members, and they obviously didn’t part on the best terms.

I do think it’s interesting that the Stayte album came out two days after Got Cock. I wonder if there was a contractual thing where it couldn’t get released until their RevCo gig was over with.

Revco’s supposed to be handed over to three new guys when this lineup finished, and that was pretty abruptly, so I dunno. I personally hope Al just calls it quits and finally just buries revco. LFG should’ve been the last one. Think the only way i’ll actually BUY a future revco album, if there’s one, is if they bring back phildo or luc, or both.

Al needs to go on a vision quest or something.

Maybe Al could borrow Andrew WK’s life coach.

Expect an Al Jourgensen reality show when Angie realizes she’s not balancing the books by selling music.
