I kind of surprises me that they haven’t gotten all the original members back for a new effort. I mean what better do Luc and Richard 23 have going on? It probably wouldn’t be great, but I’m damned sure it’d be better than Got Cock and I’m sure it would sell better.
G.C. Is pretty lame!..The Drums sound strange on most of the tracks…AL needs a new drum machine or he needs to master those drums better in the mixing stage!!..I give it a 5 out of 10
I agree that Luc should have been on it, since they can get him on board for the remix albums! I got the impression from Chris’ book that Richard 23 and Al don’t get along any more, but I don’t know how serious that is after 20-some years.
I wonder if Al ever tried to get a Trent Reznor cameo on any of the new RevCo albums. He was “in RevCo” for a brief while, right? It’s not going to waste a ton of Trent’s time to do one RevCo song, and I can’t think of any better publicity RevCo could realistically get.

Strangely, the credits for Got Cock say RevCo outsourced their drum programming to some guy named Sammy D’Ambruoso (on Sex-O Olympico, drum programming is credited to Al Jourgensen & John Bilberry). I think it’s really strange that RevCo treats drums as such an afterthought, they don’t even have an official band member responsible for it.
here’s sammy on allmusic http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:gzfpxqqaldse~T4
of course it’ll say they outsourced it if it sounds like shit

I honestly think Al’s been jealous of Trent for the last 15 years or so. When the student became the master.
Trent’s probably “above” Al. I wonder what nu-revco would have been like if barker had stuck around. Seems like they wanted to do a straight up industrial album on this one but fell short. Sin tried to play like Barker even. Dykes and Juice might be the two decent ones. No Touch Screen-like caliber songs on here. Touch Screen was a diamond in
the rough. But they tried doing something different as compared to a rock band with a keyboard.
Maybe Capt. Bigshot will be better, since Al won’t be there to demand they write songs about Piss Army or whatever.
Also, Josh isn’t stupid. I wonder if calling Phildo a “founding member” was his idea or Al’s.
On repeated listens, I’m enjoying it a little more. The first time I listened to it, I made the mistake of following along with the included lyric texts, and that is no way to enjoy an album like this…
Re: Dykes, does anyone know if there’s an actual Texas-specific dyke culture that would have inspired this? Or are they just desperately trying to write another “Beers, Steers & Queers”? And why is “goth rock + Mexico” such a recurring theme for RevCo?
I’d prefer Josh keep working on his Simple Shelter project, 'cause that stuff was pretty cool!
I do like a few Nu-Cocks songs here and there, but this album is pretty bad. “Juice” is the only song that seems remotely interesting.

I don’t think it’s Al’s influence that makes nuRevCo suck. Listen to clips of Captn Bigshot and you’ll hear that the lads are fully capable of sucking all on their lonesome.

Ah, who am I kidding.
You’re right.
It’s just that some of the Stayte songs are SO good I can’t give up on these guys yet.

yeah that is pretty wack to not make the drums a priority…AL if you need drums let me know…I will get you drum tracks!..Via my MPC1000!

you’re right Stayte is some decent music but in no way the same vein as revco or bigshot… Simple Shelter is quite good as well! Probably, because Stayte is just Josh and Clayton no Sin in the mix. I like Sin Alright but I don’t think he Gels all that well with Josh and Clayton. My 2 Cents

I’ll just tell ya bastards that I’m totally drunk right now
Did the album have that crazy packaging that al talked about, or is it just a standard case?
Standard case. At least it’s not just a sleeve like Mixxx-O.
I can’t believe I am saying this, but Got Cock isn’t that bad. It is the same band as Sex O, but the songs are simply better.
I don’t know if it’s because my expectations were so low going into it, but I actually like it.
There seems to be a real effort to use less guitar on this album. And songs like Dykes show that they tried to push their boundaries.
The artwork is hideous and Trojan Horse could be shorter, but even classic revco suffered from poor artwork and songs that ran too long.
The theme gets old as it does on all cocks albums.
Like the majority of you guys, I had no interest in buying this, but found it for $9 new at a store in KC.
I listened to this 4 times before I posted to be sure I still thought it was decent.
GC is light years better than Sex O.
SO it’s available in stores? Sweet I thought I was gonna have to order it.
