Godzilla 2014

Agreed, actually.
That’s why Captain EO was badass.
The 3D was the whole reason for the movie so they did all that stuff just to give a wild and goofy experience.

Plus . . . Michael Jackson was a super badass mofo.

You just made me feel like a 9 year old again. [:)]

Hands down, captain e/o the best 3d experience ever.

Does Jackson bum some kids in 3D?[;)]

Hey diddle diddle, Michael Jackson had a fiddle… with himself, while ***** ****ed a couple of little ****. The dirty, dirty ****.

I went to Epcot a few years back and they were playing Captain EO to be retro. It was hilarious.

Did they hand out 3D glasses with a complimentary child for everyone in the audience?

Three cans of Jesus Juice, one for you and two for the child.

I think Wicked Lake needs a re-release in 3D

Yes! Let’s get those numbers up!
Maybe boost that 12% to a solid 14.

EDIT: In contrast . . . “A Serbian Film” had about 300% more satisfaction rate amongst its viewers.

First review - that I have seen - of Godzilla up.

More or less it pretty much states what I have assumed all along - they got Godzilla right but the human element was handled with less care, to the point where most of the cast end up being cardboard cut outs. Stick virtually ANY actor in each role and the movie wouldn’t be much different.

I don’t think I’ll bother.

Still if you want to watch shit being destroyed for two hours I suppose this is the film you’ve been waiting all year for.

Cool review. Thanks.

I still can’t decide if I’m going to see this one in a regular theatre or the big mega IMAX 3D thing. I wish they had an option for IMAX without the 3D, haha!

The reviewer in the write up that Peligro posted made reference to 3D glasses but said nothing about the 3D of the movie or whether it was good or bad.

I’d see it in IMAX if it wasn’t in 3D as well. Every time I’ve seen a movie in 3D the whole 3D thing feels intrusive and I end up not even paying attention to the movie.

Also, sometimes I freak out and end up having to take the glasses off and focus on something real within sight.

Saw it in IMAX 3D earlier this week. Tremendous film. A few holes in the plot, but the movie had a few unexpected surprises as well. The monster fight sequences were incredibly well done. Honolulu and San Francisco really take a beating. The pace of the movie was a welcome change too. It took me way back to watching Ultraman on UHF 35+ years ago.

Thanks for the review, Dice!
When I return from travels I’ll try to catch it.
You are glad you went the 3D route?

I liked it. didn’t see it in 3D, not sure it’s necessary to do so, but enjoyable either way. I didn’t really care for the human storyline…I mean, who does in a Godzilla flick? You’re there for the monsters, and I believe they deliver. I can see more monster fighting and less humans in the next one. (yes, they’ve already announced a sequel)

I see it’s just been announced that the director, Gareth Edwards, is now gonna be making a Star Wars spin-off film in 2016. Not bad going for a guy whose first film, Monsters had zero budget. Godzilla was only his second film.

I don’t think it was very good. The only interesting character (if you don’t count the monsters) dies 30 minutes in. I actually preferred Pacific Rim (though the fight scenes in Godzilla are better - you can actually tell what’s happening).

I finally got around to seeing this last night. Perhaps my expectations had been lowered due to all the bad reviews, but I thought this was pretty good. Silly at times, but it’s a movie about a giant lizard, so what did people expect? Godzilla destroys San Francisco. Fun enough for me. 7/10
