Gigs you got coming in 2012

It’s really where you want to take it; there’s too much variety to choose from when it comes to swine and his breath of work.
The Sick, Painiac, Fuck Me I’m Sick, Hot Hole, Flesh, etc. come instantly to mind.

So, what PIG song do you recommend?

One Meatball
Blood Slicked Highway

Whatever you do 1002, don’t reveal the setlist like last year.

Just bought Cult tickets for Atlanta. their new album comes out next month. the clips i’ve heard are pretty heavy. should be a good time.

and i’m keeping my eye out for a 2nd leg of the solo ohgr tour.

Looking forward to the new Cult record…samples I heard sound like a mix between Love and Ceremony…which is good in my book…the Cult live is a win-lose prospect though…all depends on wheich night you catch them…I’ve seen them probably 20 times since the 80’s and they are either totally on fire or totally lackluster…probably depens on if Ian and Billy are fighting that night or not…

Fiona Apple just released Tour dates. She’s playing in Montreal for the first time.

Very pleased.

the one gig i attended so far this year (Helmet @ Glasgow Cathouse) cancelled due to power cut during support band’s set [:(]

got nothing else planned, any suggestions?

SPOILER ALERT: Rammstein 21 April 2012 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3829338094847.171017.1319672199&type=1&l=75106b70ec

Might go see Springsteen next weekend but not sure yet.

Jane’s Addiction in May.

This Friday - Trampled By Turtles w/ William Elliott Whitmore.

I got Amon Tobin’s Isam Live down in <London on May 12th. I can’t even begin to say how excited I am for it.

Got tickets to Fiona Apple yesterday… Very pleased as it’s her first time ever in Montreal.

Got the Reverend Horton Heat next weekend…

I saw them back in '94 when they were TOTALLY lacklustre. In the end the crowd just stood there and stared as if they didn’t give a shit and I wanted my money back.

Saw the Reverend Horton Heat last night…

i had never seen him before. always did the ‘i’ll go next time’ thing…

the rev. holy shit dude. he played for over two hours. (i was front row with a friend of mine’s sister and she wanted to be up close). he played one song from each of his nine albums… like in a row… ‘here’s one off our first album, here’s one off our second album… etc’ then he played 6-7 requests from the crowd. (including one of mine). people were yelling out obscure ones and he obliged. (other bands should take note). then played a few more… came back for his encore, played a song, played a motorhead cover! (ace of spades), then played one more, then closed out the show with a cover of folsom prison blues.

he finished his set, and by the time we got to the back of club, he was there signing autographs. talked to all of them for a while…

good times. two opening bands were stellar too. in my top 5 shows of all time.

I saw the Cult around that time in an outdoor venue in a snooty city that had SPL and time ordinances. Neat the end, Ian said, “We come from some North England shithole, and we don’t care what fines your fancy city wants to levy. Fuck this!!” and proceeded to jam in an extended, stripped-down set featuring just Ian vocalizing to Billy’s guitar melodies.

They got fined for loudness and exceeding concert curfew, but it was a great concert.

Stagecoach country festival just finished today in Indio, CA.

Completely different demographic than Coachella. I don’t think Linsay Lohan was there.

Did you go to Stagecoach, Steve? How was it?

I bought a ticket for Ministry tonight. I was thinking GA Floor Tickets were like $100+ or something, but they were $46 + fees. That seems fair to me. I’m just glad to have a GA ticket. I hate assigned seats.
