on a scale of 1-10 ten being really happy 1 being mad/upset, how wouold you feel if toot, or fiend, or whomever made a video about how much you suck?etc…

yeah this is lame but whatever

This is actually a really good idea, and also an excellent way to kill time before class.

Plus, listing your favorite things and then deeming everyone else’s favorite things as sucktastic garbage is the very ESSENCE of Prongs.

Favorites…

Book? Yeesh. Tough call between The Martian Chronicles and 1984. The Fountainhead is up there too (yeah, Ayn Rand is a flaming cunt, but that book did genuinely positive things to me).

Movie… Bill Plympton’s “Mutant Aliens.” Greatest fucking movie ever made.

Actor/actress? Hmmm. Christian Bale and Jennifer Tilly, respectively. One’s the biggest asshole ever, and the other is bangin’ HAWT.

Television would probably go to the Venture Bros. at the moment.

First concert I ever went to was ZZ Top when I was like five. Hell yes. Aside from local shows, there haven’t been any since.

I subsist on coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, throat lozenges, and menudo. Mmmm.

My first exposure to Ministry was back in '03, when my 14-year old self first heard either “Thieves” or “Burning Inside” and was blown away by the fact that techno and metal could exist side by side. I bought TMIATTTT and loved it throughout, which leads to my favorite Ministry moment…

… When I’d picked up the record, it was a very rare rainy day in my neck of the woods. (Southwest AZ, to be precise.) When I popped in the record, there was quite the storm raging outside. As the album approached the final two tracks, the storm seemed to die down a bit. As my (now) all-time favorite Ministry song ever started to play, the textures of the music seemed to mesh so well with the falling rain outside and the brief flashes of lightning that accompanied it, and I was absolutely transfixed by it all.

A soft rumble of thunder…

“Do you believe in angels?”

“… NO.”

I was fucking sold.

Good times.

Favorite artist/album: En Esch and his solo record “Cheesy.” Greatest album of all time. Prove me wrong.

[laugh]

The Toot actually made a movie of me that was hilarious and pretty dead-on. The only differences being that I have no clue who the fuck Nephilim is and I’m much blacker in person.

book: Imajica by Clive Barker for fiction, The Search For the Giant Squid by Richard Ellis for non-fiction.

movie: too many to list here but Death Race 2000 is a favorite I can watch anytime. Lots of grade B-Z horror flicks I love.

actor: Toshiro Mifune, or maybe Vincent Price

actress: Cate Blanchett

tv show: Currently Lost is the only thing I keep up with, but overall its the cartoons I grew up like Battle of the Planets.

first concert: Ministry w/KMFDM 1990

fav concert: Skinny Puppy 1990

fav food: chicken in its various forms

first ministry experience: Twitch on cassette late 86 or early 87.

worst/best ministry experience: best is seeing Ministry in its prime. Worst is witnessing the decline [:(]

fav artist: Gustave Dore, Salvador Dali, Bernie Wrightson (for comics).

Toot vid: well I wouldn’t mind one at all [;)]

Yes.

Toot already knows how much I suck and he likes it.

These are fun.

fav book: A Brief History of Time, Catch 22 and Naked Lunch

movie: None in particular. Too many good ones to name.

actor: Ed Norton, I suppose.

actress: A big thankyou to Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon for that wonderful scene in ‘The Hunger’.

tv show: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Curb Your Enthusiasm, some Dexter, Seinfeld, early Simpsons, late South Park, Epitafios (the happiest show from Argentina)

first concert: Tool, supported by the Melvins when I was 14.

fav concert: Kiss and AC/DC. Balls to anyone who disagrees.

fav food: My girlfriend’s parents cooking.

first ministry experience: Being locked in the office of my dad’s indoor soccer centre. It was 1996, and I was 8, and he’d forgotten I was in there coz he was reffing all night. So, to keep myself pre-occupied, I turned on the radio. The only station with anything worthwhile on was JJJ. And it just so happened to be a Ministry special, because they’d just released Filthpig. Lay Lady Lay was stuck in my head, I shit you not, for years after that.

worst/best ministry experience: 2006 Australian tour being cancelled, and the recent goings on with the PA fiasco.

fav artist: Caravaggio and Munch. Photography, it’d have to be Joel Peter Witkin. Makes Serrano look like a choirboy.

on a scale of 1-10 ten being really happy 1 being mad/upset, how wouold you feel if toot, or fiend, or whomever made a video about how much you suck?etc…

10 if there was nudity to some degree.

Book: Hmmm… A few years ago I’d say American Psycho. Now I say Anna Karenina by Tolstoy and “Os Maias” by Eça de Queirós

Movie: All Kubrick movies I saw are amazing. Always liked the “Davids”: Lynch, Cronenberg and Fincher. Hmmm… Wings of desire by Wenders… and many others.

First concert: Crappy portuguese band called silence 4. the first “real” concert I went was Moonspell (a portuguese metal band) I loved them!

Fav concert: Tool - Lateralus tour

Fav food: Red Wine [cool]

First Ministry Experience: Nursing Home in the radio.

Worst/best Ministry experience: Some posts at prongs

Dr. Strangelove was amazing. [:)]

I saw Dr. Strange Love, 2001, clockwork orange, shinning, full metal jacket, barry lyndon and the one with the cruise family… that was probably the only one that didn’t tell me much… I have to see it again.

Have you heard that story that tells Kubrick shot the apollo landing on the moon? And Shining is full of hints about that? Hmm… I guess I saw that story here at prongs!

Fav food: Red Wine [cool]

I approve.

Yeah good thread…

Movie - Bad Boy Bubby

Actor - ??? Eric from True Blood because I’m totally gay for him.

Actress - Helena Bonham Carter/Tilda Swinton

TV Show - Six Feet Under…also love Dexter/Underbelly/Deadwood/Madmen/Weeds/Family Guy

First Concert - Kiss (with make-up) 80 or 81 in Auckland, NZ.

Fav Food - A Proper NZ Pavlova

First Ministry Experience - A dude who lived in a flat down the hall from me visited me (around 1991) with a joint and two new demo tapes he’d just bought from Sydney’s Utopia Records that had just been released…one was Ministry’s NWO which featured NWO/Just One Fix and TVII and the other tape was RATM’s Killing In The Name Of…we played RATM once then threw it in the corner and played the Ministry one over and over and over. From that day on I always thought Rage sucked due to Ministry being so friggin awesome.

Best Ministry Experience - Seeing them live for the first time @ Selinas, Coogee Beach, Sydney, Australia Jan 95. They were in fine fucking style and truly DEVASTATING.

Worst Ministry Experience - Watching the decline of the band that really made me obsessed with music.

I will take the time to make some more films featuring folk that haven’t really appeared in the near future. I will have to study some of their posts for a script.

Oh yeah and my fav book would have to be William Burroughs “Naked Lunch”. That books is friggin hilarious and features some truly insane imagery.

Alan Duff’s “Once Were Warriors” is superb too.

Actor - ??? Eric from True Blood because I’m totally gay for him.
TV Show - Six Feet Under…

Yes, Alexander Skarsgard who plays Eric is best thing about True Blood in my opinion, plus he’s the son of actor Stellan Skarsgard.

I’ve only caught a couple of episodes of Six Feet Under, but scored a boxset of all the seasons on DVD for about $50 awhile back. I’ve been looking forward to watching the whole thing in order.

book: … The Real Frank Zappa Book (that’s really the only book i read through entirely)

movie: David Lynch’s movies, Videodrome, anything Monty Python

actor: Jack Nicholson (he can put his sunglasses on with his eyebrows)

actress: anyone hot

tv show: Ren & Stimpy, Simpsons, Family Guy (3rd season), Young Ones

first concert: Tool Lateralus Tour 2002

fav concert: i guess NIN 2006 because they’re the only band besides Tool that come here. That and my roommate finally “f-u-c-k-o-f-t” so I was in a generally good mood which made the NIN night more memorable. [:)]

fav food: anything that doesn’t sport mold or smells funny

first ministry experience: buying LORAH on a whim

best ministry experience: never got to see them live, so i guess whenever i listen to them is my best ministry experience (i’m lame).

worst ministry experience: the obvious stuff over the last five years

fav artist: joseph beuys
