Yeah, but at least the film quality added to the atmosphere of the movie. all the choppy camera moves the shitty audio and less than sharp look of the movie gave it a decent atmosphere for what it was. The new one is slick and glossy and way out of place.
BTW I liked the new TexasCM. I thought it was great. I didn’t care much for the the original. I thought it was over hyped and just kinda weak. I watched it in college and just wasn’t impressed. I’ve been to towns like where the new one is set, thought it seemed more credible and more entertaining.

The Village is seriously the worst movie I’ve ever seen. SPOILER ALERT: I was so pissed to find out that the thing in the woods was just a guy in a suit. But I was downright disgusted when it was revealed that the people who ran the village were basically a cult who were brainwashing their children all because they lost their parents. Most people hated the abrupt ending, but that’s really the only thing I liked about it. That movie was like taking in a homeless person, feeding them, giving them clothes and providing shelter and then they slap you in the fucking face. Fuck M. Night however you spell his fucking name.
By the way, Lady In The Water was just all sorts of boring. I turned it off after a half hour.

It’s in the middle of the page. Be patient, though, if it doesn’t show up right away. It takes a while to load on to the page.
There’s no need to watch it, though, in my opinion, as it looks like the ad for a TCM remake, a Saw movie, Hostel, or any other pile of crap that I couldn’t care less about.
I guess you technically could do a long edit of the three movies and make it into one. All you would need to do is edit out the beginning recaps of 2 and 3 and match the shots in the edits between movies.
There’s only one downside…it simply is too much to sit through. There really isn’t anything relevant that you need to know about the first movie, but 2 and 3 work well enough together.

you kidding?! the first one is easily the best. that pencil scene still makes me squirm. gah!
the second one, for as good as it is, it leans on the comedy element a little more obtrusively, and this is a little less entertaining for me. i mean, the slightly longer bit at the end is nice, but still, it is just a sillier, bigger budgeted version of the superior first one.
i like a good horror comedy (Return of the Living Dead is one of the best movies… EVER) but i think that a lot of the time, even the great ones (Shaun of the dead, Evil Dead II, so on…) they just lean a little too heavy on the comedy, and thus dont really effectively channel the horror that makes the combination so lethal.
i knew this remake would be disappointing. i dont know why they didnt just make a 4th instead. i would WAY rather a bad sequel than a worthless re-make.

The funny thing is, if you go to piratebay and put in “evil dead complete saga” someone did exactly that and I downloaded it last night! I will check it out even as a curiousity…even if I’m not a fan of Army Of Darkness anymore
you know, for a FRACTION of the cost of remaking the movie, they could have just done a really strong remaster and re-touching of the original. i would have paid to see that in theaters.

I completely oppose these remakes too, Rusty. It’s insulting, embarrassing, and the epitome of laziness. But . . . it unfortunately does make business sense or they wouldn’t be raping every single classic movie ever made.
