Every Day Is Halloween - The Anthology

Jordison actually brought up the project with Al recently in an interview about the new Murderdolls album, he siad the he has tiem booked in a studio with al in late 2010 and a small bit in early 2011, if i am not mistaken.

i dont know… this could be a cool trip into trashy aggression… i dont like slipknot, but i like joey’s drumming.

and jello talked about the lard album back in 2007ish. the way he talked about it made it sound like he wasnt all that interested in doing another one…

as for pailhead, i dont think that will EVER return, Ian’s most recent stuff is… not really in line with Pailhead, and it has been stated that he and Al didnt keep up a close friendship exactly… haha.

Joey is an overrated trendy drummer! I found the murderdolls entertaining in high school, and will give the new album a listen when I get the chance, but for the most part, I’ve never liked slipknot. I tried getting getting into them. The first album is ok the first time you hear it and songs like Heretic Anthem and People = Shit are ok. But when you listen to it more and see who listens to slipknot, you’ll understand how shitty they really are. Most of those “maggots” are a bunch of mindless zombies who regulary shop at hot topic, cut their wrists for attention and are probably into vampirism and other shitty bands. Plus the whole thing with the masks is quite ridiculous. Leave that shit to wwe. I mean not all bands who are mainstream are bad but ppl accociate slipknot with Metal, and while they may be Metal influenced, THEY AREN’T FUCKING METAL!!! Anyways, thats my schpeel on slipknot

As for Lard, thats whatever. I guess I’d have to hear more Lard to have more of an opinion. But if they sound like anything Jello did on Cocked & Loaded I’ll gladly pass

And as for Pailhead, its no suprise. I dont keep up with Ian McKaye but all I know is that he’s a straight edge. Not that it bothered him when Al was a heroin addict but I’m sure he wouldn’t wanna relive that experience now that Al’s a drunk

I can vouch for joey blowing on drums. When he played the show in Houston he was fucking up left and right. The funniest part though was that he had this face pure horror. I guess it could have been Al getting him super drunk or because it as the first date of the tour but either way it was pretty obvious that he’s only comfortable in a band where he is pretty much the lead like in slipknot. Anything out of that realm seems to be too much of a challenge for him.

I’m not sure Al ever said that he was definitely going to do another Pailhead. Just that he wanted to.
I’m not going to dig through a bunch of interviews to verify that, though.

I saw Joey playing LATE in the tour.

He still sucked.

Awful, actually.

He didn’t have a clue what he was playing and he looked like a complete jackass with his “I wish I was Al” top hat and makeup and other gayness.

Seriously.

He’s crap.

splipknot isnt metal? look, i dont liek the band, but you are kidding me right? what are they, easy listening? haha. just because they sell a bunch of albums and write repetitive and non-groundbreaking stuff doesnt meant they arent metal… haha.

as for Ian, he has disowned the Straight Edge movement. he thinks that it has gone too far and gotten too militaristic. he will drink a coffee (organic free trade mind you) or have chocolate or something now, but he doesnt partake in the scene. just saying. haha.

Yeah slipknot isnt Metal, they’re crap

Yeah slipknot isnt Metal, they’re crap

Most metal is crap so they seem to fit right in!

Metal is crap? Wtf do you like to listen to

Calling slipknot metal is giving them too much credit. It’s almost the same as calling NIN industrial or The Smashing Pumpkins grunge. They may be influenced by it or share certain traits but that’s it. Btw, in no way am i trying to put those three bands on the same level. slipknot is terrible in my opinion.

haha, ok, so what classifies metal? and how on earth does a band liek slipknot NOT embody it?

loud, guitar-based, aggressive, blah blah blah blah.

get over your genre, they are metal and so is Dark Fortress. the same broken-down mini-subgenre? no, but they are both metal, as with countless other bands.

there is nothing in music more ridiculous than arguing over genre distinctions.

‘No they arent real metal because they dont masturbate thinking of black sabbath enough!’

haha dont be silly.

Honestly, i care about metal about as much as i care about rock which is very little. Regardless of my taste it’s still hard to classify slipknot with Slayer or Emperor. Instead they are more comparable to Korn who themselves were nu-metal which was branched off of alternative metal. Both those genres share very little with metal despite the names. As time would go on bands like linkin park and limp bizkit would show how little metal was involved. Now you may be one of those people that screams for the walls of genres to be torn down but honestly I couldn’t give a shit less. Genres don’t hurt anyone. Sub genres can get tiresome but when such a great deviance is obvious I think that’s when they become necessary.

[url “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman”]Slipknot isn’t really metal!

I hope more prongs threads descend into existential debates over whether or not Slipknot qualifies as metal.

Mostly things other than metal (crazy, I know).

I hope more prongs threads descend into existential debates over whether or not Slipknot qualifies as metal.

I think that is something all Prongers can agree on.

I fucking hate comparing bands like Ministry to Slipknot. I wasn’t even into heavy music before Ministry, but seeing videos like Over the Shoulder and Flashback for the first time were insane. I had never seen anything like it before. Slipknot however, just more of the same.

When I bought Chris Cornell’s ‘Euphoria Morning’ it was classified as metal.

Slipknot, Korn, whatever…rock bands. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So… I hear ministry redid Halloween?

I first off wanna say sorry for this thread temporarily becoming a debate on slipknot. I didn’t think my elitest comment would cause quite a stir. I just started to vent out some frustration (thats pretty much old news now cause slipknot is probably gonna cease to exist anyways) bc I was reading some old interviews with Euronymous of Mayhem and also some articles on burzum.org (no need to save the day on that one Captain URL). Whenever I get into black metal mode I become quite cranky and elitest when I start to think of the modern state of metal as we know it. But nobody likes a total metal snob. Though I have my moments I fucking hate other metal snobs bc it seems like all they listen to is Black and Death Metal and they have no souls. Anyways, I apologize

And yes LordPiko you should hear the new version if you havent already.

Speaking of rerecorded songs, KMFDM rerecorded Godlike again
