I think KMFDM did a new mix of Godlike, not a new recording.
Ur right it is a new mix. Just looked it up on theultraheavybeat forum. The single/EP has new remixes of the song including one by The Melvins
Thought about snatching the bundle, but I didn’t.
i’m guessing he probably won’t/can’t release old material cause he’ll have to pay royalties…remixes on the other hand…
October 5th is here… did anyone see/buy this on CD? I looked around a bit in Ottawa, but the store that actually ordered it told me that it didn’t come in. I was kind of expecting that.
I’ve got an Amazon.com gift certificate coming in. When it arrives I’m going to try to order it and see what happens.
just listened to whole album briefly
most horrible tasteless dumbfuck stupid redundant useless shit i’ve ever heard
everything is bad about it
the sound, the mixing, guitars, vocals, the jitter jerking beats and stuttering guitars
only the Halloween (Retro Electro Remix) is tolerable because of probably new fresh vocal track, but whats the point, if there is original verions
i mean come on
with each new release Al/Ministry just get a new low every time
fucking shit…
I found this one one of my favorite file sharing networks yesterday - it just seems like yet another completely unnecessary rehash. I think Stigmata and Jesus BMH are the re-recordings for Rock Band, and maybe NWO was re-recorded at the same time as well. I don’t remember if the RB Thieves was a re-recording or not.
I miss the days where Al’s drug-addled madness and cast of rotating collaborators produced random greatness…
Bought it at HMV today. Let me have a couple more beers before listening to it…

Rock Band’s Stigmata is the Rantology version. Rock Band’s Thieves and JBMHR are the originals. Everything on the Halloween anthology is a new recording - except possibly the track from Rio Grande Blood whose name I can’t recall offhand.

i don’t like it at all. the bass drum is off. the vocals are off. the timing it off. just sounds weird…not nearly as good as the original.
useless release.
Yeah, my first impression of this new album is also that it sucks. [:(]
Though to be fair, I seem to have overdosed on loud music lately, and listening to anything hurts my ears right now. Hopefully I will recover soon and be able to give this album another chance.
I thought this album was renamed undercover
Listened to the tracks from the link above against my better judgment… I shouldn’t have bothered.
just listening to it now, and as i’ve said before it’s quite obvious that NWO, JBMHR etc have been at least partially re-recorded (and remixed), but i just had a thought; maybe these are the original JBMHR vocals recorded by Al? didn’t he do them first before gibby did his take? they sure as hell aint gibby anyway, and they appear to be actual lyrics as opposed to drunken babbling.
oh, and the end of stigmata is fucked up. he fucked the guitars and he fucked the timing of his vocals. what was he thinking? it’s amateur.
the new cover songs are shit, yes, but just count, how many NWO/JBMHR/Stigmata versions he rehashed since 2004… it’s just sad.

No. Chris Connelly attempted to write lyrics for it, but he got writer’s block. Al called Gibby who came in and nailed it in one drunken take.
My guess is that Al translated Gibby’s drunk-speak and that’s what he’s singing on this new version.

That’s going to be essentially this same album, repackaged with a few other tracks (nothing new).
He’s on Cleopatra now - expect this to happen quarterly.
