CU Latour

you guys have too much faith. i’m calling it now, same setlist all 3 shows of chicago with MAYBE 2 different songs each night.

this is unless biafra shows up or something and they do a couple lard songs. but without special guests i don’t see much extra being added. Maybe if it was their last show ever (which i still think they should do in chicago) but they are going to europe to tour after the 3 chicago gigs right?

I agree, I think 2 songs a night is the most likely answer to the Chicago show. Why the hell would Al practice a whole bunch of songs he’s only going to play on one night?

‘Course I could be wrong and I’ll miss an amazing show but something tells me not to worry. Though I’m telling you all, that Blackhawks song is going to be smokin’ live and I would just shit my pants if he brought in one of the classic players to play on a classic track. Imagine Sgt. Major live shouting along to Gang Green?!

FUCK!
I wanted “The Fall” and “Filth Pig” I really didn’t give a good fuck about what else he played!
Took the stage at 11:15 and hoarked his VIP ticket holders? Who does he think he is, Axl Rose?
This very disappointing.
Maybe I’ll make a plea to him in Cali to Add “The Fall” into the show. Hopefully he’ll do it

There isn’t even a fence, according to the guy that posted the set list.

I seriously hate Al Jourgensen and MaggitTooth.

If I decide I still want to go to this crapfest, I might have to yell at Al the entire show about how fucking lame he is and to play some old shit. I really don’t care if someone kicks my ass or if I get thrown out, because at least I’ll have been able to see Meshuggah, and I will probably be pretty drunk when Ministry comes on.

I posted this over at PA:

I’m sure Al picked the setlist since he’s Ministry and all that. I understand he has two new cds out and wants to play stuff off them but to have 4 songs off of HOTM & RGB…seems excessive. I mean he toured heavily for those releases and most of us have heard those songs live…not counting Thieves, JOF & NWO.

I know the show will kick ass & I’m happy to say there’s a meet-&-greet so I feel very good about those aspects of going to see Ministry. The setlist is a different story. Most bands go through their catalog to satisfy new and old fans. Al seems not to think about that…he does what he wants to do and I guess that’s okay.

The last few tours Al hasn’t played a different set unless a special guest showed up. I’m hopeful but don’t think the setlist will change that much. btw…It needs to change a lot!

So I was talking music with this guy yesterday, and I mentioned that Ministry was one of my favorite bands.

He laughed at me.

I felt rather hurt.

But judging by this setlist, I think I had it coming.

i’m too drunk to post something. See you guys tomorrow.

Yo Jizzim check this out…i’m the man[cool]

You know, I knew this would happen. That’s why I didn’t bother buying tickets. Ministry can go fuck themselves.

P.S. We’ll be having this same discussion in 3 years when Ministry goes back out on the road on a reunion tour and plays only dreck back-to-back.

I still think it would be great if Paul, Chris, Mike, and Bill started a Ministry “cover band” and took it on the road.

No need for Al.

wait till he gets that flowering blight stuff out. it’s a lot different than ussa from what i’ve heard.

Damn it… that fake set list was just realistic enough to make me think it was legit. I got all excited seeing “Shove”, “Animosity”, “Over the Shoulder”, “Reload” and “Crumbs” that I actually considered going.

The real set list quickly put things in perspective though. There is no fucking way Jourgensen is getting my money this time around. What a fucking piece of shit this band has become.

Uncle Al has always done things the way he wants regardless of what the fans think. There’s something to be said for artists sticking to their guns, and moving forward regardless of the public’s perception of them. If Al wants a setlist of mostly post-Barker material then fine, that’s his choice, after all he has stated many times that he IS Ministry. The thing that is wrong here is the promises of a 2.5 hour set spanning the whole career of Ministry, and that a lot of long time fans would come out based on those statements. Its a big let down considering that this is the last tour, and anyone showing up expecting anything different than the Bush trilogy will probably be disappointed. They are truly the Last Suckers, and I include myself in that statement. From what I understand Mr. Jourgensen is not even present on stage during the older songs, I think that says it all.

Having guest vocalists does not bother me that much either, after all most of the Mind tour was other people singing and that gave it a feeling of seeing some of the side projects live. I’ve only seen Ministry once, and it was on that tour oddly enough at the exact same venue they are playing this time.

I had tickets for the last tour, but ended up giving them to my roomates as they had never seen the band live before, but I wished I had seen the Cocks live. I will go this time as the show is on my birthday, and I didn’t pay for it. Maybe things will improve, but I somehow doubt it.

I remember vividly during LoRaH Al kicking Ogre in the ass while he was leaning out over the crowd knocking him into the audience (the show at the Masquerade had the two tall side fences, but not the one in the center). The two of them ended up rolling around on stage with each other in a headlock for most of the song Ogre was laughing the whole time[:)] Now it seems all Al wants to do is hang on whatever extravagent mic stand he has for the tour, and sometimes play guitar.

I havent paid any money for a Ministry album since Animositisomina. I guess getting hosed for this farce is karma…

carmangary your mcdonalds/ministry comparison over on piss army is absolutely prefect.
