I actually believe something similar to this - that we’d benefit in the long run from a system that rewards demonstrable cleverness with more voting rights, and grants fewer (if any) voting privileges to people who have two brain cells that are themselves constantly at war with each other.
People should have to prove that they have some decent understanding of issues on which they’re voting. Perhaps even essay questions should be required.
Of course, if a system like this were in place, then the powers that be would surely do their best to continue rigging the system and making sure that the MENSA-level votes get uncounted. All the stories on the alphabet soup TV networks after the election would be like “Stunning election upset! Severe lack of participation by high-IQ voters ensures victory for John Cena / Miley Cyrus ticket”

I fully believe we need a maximum wage in this country and anything over needs to go back to the people in the form of Taxes. Just think of all of the programs that could come back to the schools (shop classes, arts classes, cultural classes, clubs etc) and communities if that money was dispersed back to the communities.

I agree. I hate Florida. It’s really a dumb, gross, backwards state.
But there is ONE state that I hate INFINITELY more than Florida. And that’s Delaware. I hate it so much that I chose a less prosperous (on paper, based on past performance, at least) mutual fund for my investments solely because it was noted that the fund’s management/ investment team was located in or incorporated in Delaware. If I find out that something is from Delaware or has a connection to Delaware I throw it away.
I’ll still talk to someone who tells me s/he’s from Florida, but on the rare occasion someone says s/he is from Delaware I get away from them immediately as if they have leprosy. I hate everything about Delaware. Delaware is the AIDS of states and everything about it is horrible and stupid.
